Reviews for Corbeau Baja RS Reclining Suspension Seat Pair
Great seats. Ride high on original frames
Great seats, the adapters for the TJ are a must and make installation quick and fairly painless. This has certainly helped my back over the old cloth factory originals, and not having to worry about mold as much is nice.
I installed these into my 1986 CJ7. They look sharp and are super comfy. I get a lot of comments when people ride in them. Now for the bad part. They sit way higher that the stock OEM seats and are also wider and longer. -yes they bolt perfectly to the stock seat brackets in a CJ7. You might have trouble with these fitting if you have a large aftermarket center console. I had to remove the seat slide adjustment bracket to lower them an inch. I then had to make some custom spacers to make the seat sit as far back as possible (I am 6ft tall). The back of the seats hit the roll bar so they cannot recline at all. -not a big deal to me but if you need these to recline they will not in a CJ7. I could have bought the non reclining version but I did not like how those looked. These are very sharp looking! I also had to buy a smaller diameter steering wheel to get my fat legs to fit between the seat and steering wheel when getting in. Tilt Steering column would have solved this issue but I don't have that option. I'm 6ft and 215lbs. If you are short and smaller then these might work perfect for you just as a bolt in replacement seat. I used the stock seat belts with no issues. Conclusion: these are a fantastic upgrade from the stock seats. They are comfy and hold you in. Installation into a CJ7 is direct bolt in if you are a smaller person. Taller people will find these sit too high so either fab up some custom seat brackets or buy a ready made set. Tilt steering is really needed for these seats in a CJ. I am on the lookout for a used tilt steering column so I can go back to my OEM steering wheel.
Perfect fit, real nice looking and comfortable.
Only con is its a little harder to get in with the lip on the seat.
Awesome seats, for a daily driver I may have gotten the JP seats because of the side bolsters and lack of reclining room in my YJ. Also you're going to have to mod your stock seat brackets or buy the Corbeau ones because you sit about 5 inches higher. But they feel great on the road and trail and really keep you in place. I notice a significant difference in shock absorption on rough roads.
I ordered these seats in February(2021) and got them a few weeks back(May). I’m not complaining about the wait time because I know how the supply chains are right now because I work in manufacturing. My experience installing these into my 07 JK has been a nightmare. Had to beat the frame sliders into shape to fit where they need to in the body and had to beat the brackets for the seat belts too because they were too wide to fit between the center console and the seat. There are no brackets or mounting spots for any of the electronic connectors for the passenger side air bags. Mine had the 4 weight sensors on each corner of the seat and the position sensor in the middle. So far I’ve zip tied them all up out of the way until I can find a fix or make my own to assure the air bag will deploy if needed. The seats themselves seem to be well made and are comfortable. I was hoping for a lot better fit and finish for nearly $1300.
Seats do not fit well in a TJ. They rub against the center console and roll bar. High bolster makes getting in and out a pain. The black cloth material has faded to a navy blue in one summer. Stitching pulled out in seat back in a couple of months. For what Corbeau charges for their seats you would expect to find injection moulded for for the cushions. I pull the covers to have the stitching fixed and found cheap foam that you would get from a fabric/craft store. Would not buy again.
