Reviews for Bestop TrailMax II Fold & Tumble Rear Bench Seat in Vinyl for 55-95 Jeep CJ5, CJ6, CJ7, CJ8 Scrambler & Wrangler YJ
Great seat. Much better than OEM. Lock down latch didn't align well, but no other issues.
Looks great! Not that difficult of an install.
High back headrest
Tumble ability
High quality seat and the installation was very simple on my '93 YJ. I would've given it 5 stars if the rear latch would have worked better. Even with some tweaking and modification, it still doesn't latch completely. It latches "enough" to keep up from coming up unintentionally, but still not FULLY latched.
Very easy install on an 89' YJ. Agree with a comment above however that the latch can be a bit tricky. Worked better be pushing any amount of slack in the seat mount brackets to the drivers side if the Jeep. And any slack in the latch down bracket to the passenger side. This adjustment made it work very well.Nice looking seat. More comfortable than I expected.
The quality of the seat appears to be good. However, the overall engineering and design of the seat is less than ideal for the older CJ7 and CJ5 models. It no longer uses the existing mounting holes for a secure mounting. Instead it requires drilling and using a tapping plate to secure the seat. The benefit from this is that you can at least gain a small amount of extra leg room for the backseat passengers as long as your seat belts can reach the original mounting location as Bestop never accounts for seatbelt locating on the 85 and older tools. You need to figure it out before you relocate the seat. Overall if you like the look and don't care about making more holes in your floor. These seats are going to be ok for you. However, if you want sound engineering and a regard for safety, look for other seats and see how they mount up before you buy them. Learn from my mistake.
