Reviews for Rock Hard 4X4 Oil Pan & Transmission Skid Plate for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with Short Arm Suspension
Very solid skid plate. Ran trails at Table Mesa JJUSA and no issues. Keep in mind every Jeep is a little different so use the shim if needed. I really like the catalytic converter skid and the oil drain opening works great. Note this ships directly from the manufacturer, Quadratec estimated 11-14 days but it arrived in 7! Also the instructions said to put the front brackets on the outside for the 2012. For my 2017 I could not make that work. Delighted with this purchase.
I am super impressed with the Rock Hard skids (engine, transfer case, and fuel tank) that bought for my ‘14 JKU. From the quick shipping to the fit, finish, and packaging of the skids I couldn’t be more pleased! I was able to install them by myself with a bit of patience, watching the YouTube videos over and over, and using 1 floor jack and stands for the Jeep and 1 floor jack to position the skids.
these have taken a beating since i put them on, great product
Easy install great protection.
Ordered and returned a couple of the competitors. Don't waste your time with others. This is by far the best fitment and strongest. Follow your gut like I did - you spent good money on your rig... spend a hundred or so more over the competition to protect it right and be able to wheel with that comfort.
This is a very good product. Everything lined up exactly right. I needed an extra shim and Rock Hard sent one. I am very impressed with Rock Hard products.
Product seems to be very good product. It bolted in very easily. The written instructions were ok, but the YouTube video really helped. I used the shim that was provided for the extra clearance around the exhaust pipe on my 2017 JKU.
Solidly constructed skid plate, YouTube instructions (primer) clarified any questions before I started, took about 3 hours to install, if that long. No issues with fitment of any of the parts. I have a 2017 2 Door Rubicon, the exhaust was a little close for my liking to the skid plate, so I installed the included steel shim and it's all good now. No noise, no articulation issues, overall a good product.
Seems very well built. Instructions were clear, but pictures were not the easiest to view. Installed in my garage with simple jack stands.
Will be getting more RH gear soon. Held up great and easy install. If you have exhaust spacers they have to come off
