Reviews for Superchips 3571 Flashcal F5 Programmer for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
It did what it says. It adjusted for my tires but all the other options are kind of useless. I may pay for the upgrade to get more tuning options.
First of all don't get me wrong this actually does exactly what it says it does. I thought when I bought this it would let me change my jeep to where I could engage my lockers in 4 High. It will do that but you have to have the programmer plugged in to do it. That's not what I wanted. I am also adding larger tires which I needed to calibrate for the speedometer. There is an android phone app called OBD JScan that will do everything this flashcal will for me and it only cost in the $20.00 range plus the cost of an OBDII Bluetooth reader. So less than $60.00 I can do the same thing this $200.00 item will do for me. If your looking to change tires, Gears, add a backup camera or other items please look into the OBD JScan app (for JK models only). I really could have used that $200.00 for other more useful items on my Jeep. Overall very disappointed in my lack of research before I purchased this and what I consider wasted $200.00.
I bought this specifically to be able to use my rear rubicon locker in 4high. This doesn’t enable an option like any of the other optional functions it will enable/alter. I can use it to manually engage the locker while it is plugged into the OBB-2 connector. I am not going to be driving around off-road with this thing dangling by the wire across my lap. It shows it as a feature on the box but it is very misleading.
I already had my speedo calibrated and my tpms sensors turned off. The only positive thing from this was to make it so my fog lights didn’t drop out when I turned my high beams on.
Corrupted my bcm and caused it to lock out above 15 mph. At idle, Speedo showed 3 mph. Driving at 15, Speedo would go past 100 and kill gas. Dealer confirmed faulty unit. Superchips refused to pay for diagnostic. Tech support is a joke.
Dealer invoice available for anyone to look at.
I lost over drive on my 2015 jk. Tryed to return to stock. Now it's stuck in 3rd gear and no manual mode. I had to reinstall just to get it moving again but still no overdrive. I only got this bc I installed 4.88 gears. I did noticed tell I got it on the highway after my 500 mile break in. I hope superchip has a answer
