The kit installation on my 2002 Tj took a couple of hours but worth it no more random miss fires

Fixed all hard start and ruff running issues so far.....Ran it in traffic and parked it for 1/2 hour...Started right up and ran fine. testing allday so far so good. Best it has ran in te three years I have owned it. If thatchanges I will let you know.

Hoping it fixes my injector problem

Install was relatively easy but I'm taking off 1 star b/c the fit wasn't perfect. I had to cut the fabric on the fuel rail blanket b/c while they cut holes for most of the fuel rail protrusions (injectors) they missed one hole which I had to manually cut. Not a big problem but I hope the manufacturer reads this and fixes it for the TJ models. Oh, also the hole cut for the plastic rivet pin is too large for the pin that came with the Jeep. Most of these get mangled when you remove them anyway. Adding the right sized pin would have been a welcome addition to the kit and would have cost the manufacturer about a penny per kit. Again a minor issue but together they are worthy of a star. In any case, this heat shield is far better than the OEM one.

I planned a two prong approach to getting rid of Chrysler's screw up (putting the fuel rail over top the exhaust manifold thus causing this heat soak problem). First part was to install this kit. (done, happy with that, took 30 min.) The old heat shield was falling apart so this needed to be done anyway. Second part is to add some ventilation by installing louver kit to remove the heat that lingers under the hood. I've read that this heat shield kit helps with heat soak but may not eliminate it totally especially in hot climates. Therefore the two pronged approach.

Reduces engine chugging on hot starts due to burning fuel vapor, but does not eliminate it completely. Still worth the purchase as there is no way to completely eliminated the design flaw of having a fuel rail directly over top a scorching hot exhaust manifold.

Only giving 4 star reviews because I’m not sure yet if it fixes my problem or not, but it was a good quality product that fit well with good directions. I would buy it again as long as it fixes my hot engine misfire.

Have yet to install this unit. All parts appear to have made it in the package intact.
