Reviews for Quadratec Manual Replacement Mirror for 84-96 Jeep Cherokee XJ
Great price
Work just like the stock mirrors. Lighter than the stock mirrors though.
I purchased a replacement passenger side mirror for my 95 XJ and a replacement rear view mirror for my sons 98 XJ. The mirror arrive quickly and the install of the replacement mirror was smooth. I experienced no issues with the product whatsoever. I recommend quadratec and will continue purchase my XJ parts from you.
Thank you
Rich

These have been OK. Install is straightforward. Quality is not sturdy.

Looks great. Does not come with the seal for the door And was not assembled correctly.
Well, you get what you pay for. This mirror does the job, but it is a plastic copy of the original side mirror. It is much lighter than the metal mirror housing on my 96 XJ. As some of the reviewers have noted, it does not come with any grommets (the outer weather seal) and the inner rubber piece by the remote control. Without that inner piece, the OCD in you will notice that it is missing. I installed it, but I do wonder about the exposed channel between the mirror and the door which will let snow, rain etc in, and in the long run I will probably end up with a rusted right door. The screw holes are not tapped, but they also are made of plastic and you can just use the T30 bolts to tap them as you screw them in. You might be able to use the inner rubber piece from the other housing, but it looks like there is no way to reuse the original grommets without destroying them in some way. It also does not come with the inner plastic seal, but you can reuse the existing seal.
The fit and finish of the mirror is great. However, two issues. One, it didn't even come tapped for accepting the 3 bolts to hold it on the mirror! I had to use my tap and dye set to thread the 3 holes. Pretty sad for a "bolt on" part. Second of all, the cables are too long and don't come with a grommet like the OEM ones are to offer more weather sealing. The length issue isn't that big of a deal because you just have to push them farther into the housing when you install it. Still, for $45, this is not worth the money. I wouldn't buy one of these again. I'd rather just buy a used OEM mirror or buy a new one from the dealership if it's even available.
