Reviews for Rugged Ridge C3 Rear Cargo Cover for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK
As designed - get fit. I have 2 dogs and it saves the inside - I would definitely recommend
easy set up and worked great
Love this cargo cover. Haul two dogs daily. When not in use, it folds down nicely and my interior still looks brand new.
*NOTE* I’m hard to please.
Durable but has has room for improvement. To answer a question posted here, No you do not machine wash it. It can be sprayed off and line dried or towel washed by hand while in the rig.
My gripes-
1) The tailgate end fitment is to secure “hook” velcro to the plastic cargo area panels which corresponds with the “loop” velcro stitched on the liner.
My liner came with 1 strip of “hook” velcro and one strip of “loop” velcro. The loop isn’t needed which leaves you with 50% of the needed velcro. I secured the latch side but the hinge side is hanging free. The directions for velcro adhesion aren’t accurate or the liner is missing a piece of stitched in velcro for my 2015.
2) The fold out flap to protect your bumper is secured by velcro running the entire length of the liner when not in use. Great Velcro but a serious pain in the butt. It takes too much effort and both hands to pull the darn thing apart each time you use it. So, if you’re toting the dog or using it frequently it’s a poor design. A couple 1” square pieces that can be uncoupled quickly, efficiently and with one hand would be better (I’d leave it loose and just fold the flap up before shutting the tailgate).
3) If you run with your back seats (unlimited) upright the majority of the time the excess material designed to protect the driver and passenger seat will be folded downward and on the outside of the back seats with poor securement. I would have designed it to fold in on itself with the head rest bungee ties stitched to the outside rather than the bottom side of the liner, clean. Also, when you decide to fold your seats down the contact side of the liner for the driver and passenger seats will be dirty as its been hanging backwards behind the rear seats.
4) Lets talk about those bungee securement ties for the rear seats. If you slip or finger fumble while attaching them, which you will, the securement bar will catch the factor head rest cover and get caught underneath. Look under the headrest and you’ll see the recess in the factory material for installment, thats where the securement bar of the liner will hang up every time. Not the end of the world but far more complicated than other buckles that can be used ONE HANDED.
It’s a nice piece of mind, definitely durable and really the only option on the market in this category so what do you do? For the price I shouldn’t be getting irritated. The details matter. Would I buy it again? Reluctantly.
This is a great cover, and installation was pretty simple. The velcro that installs near back will take some time to get right. I followed per the instructions and they ended up falling off after a week due to opening and closing the rear door, so I had to move them. The configuration at the rear doors isn't the best, so that's the reason for the 4 stars. This is a must if you have dogs that shed a lot!
I really like this cover. I have had for over 9 months now and it works great. I loaded 4 tires and rims and with the front seat protected and sides protected I had no damage or scuffs to the inside of the Jeep. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it's missing 2 features that would make it incredible. 1) they built a velcro flap to cover the rear child seat lock bracket , which is also how you attach the back of the cover to rear seats. I wish they had the same Velcro flap to cover the 2 tie downs near rear seats so that I could easily access these as I do not want to cut into the cover. 2) one of the cool features is when rear seats are down, you can protect the back of the front seats. However, it creates a barrier/ cover such that you can access the rear seats front seat. When I travel with seats down and all loaded up, I place a small cooler with access to drinks/snack right behind the console so I can access the front seats and this does not work easily. It would be nice to have a velcro panel the width of console that you could open if needed. I highly recommend this cover whether you have dogs or love to load up the Jeep with camping / overland gear.
This has been a great cargo cover. It is so nice to vacuum dog hair or landscaping debris out of my Jeep now. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because some of the 3m Velcro does not stick very well, but other than that I would recommend this product for saving time keeping your interior clean.
Worked well for my dog
This great keep most of the dog hair off the carpet I would have given it a 5 star but it does not stay tucked under the tub rails and gives the sub woof feed back..
I have mixed feelings about this cover.
Pros:
Covers all the carpeted areas and seats to protect from dog hair.
Cons: it doesn't secure well around the rear hatch and bunches in the door latch. I can't figure out how to keep it from bunching without cutting it.
The panels along the back doors could detach better. I load my large dogs from the side because we tow a trailer with the Jeep and the rear isn't always accessible. They get caught up in the door panel because it doesn't lay flat when not velcroed.
Overall, it'll save the interior of my Jeep, but could stand to be more user friendly.
