Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11640.30 Hurricane Fender Flares for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Great look, easy install.
These fender flares make my Jeep look amazing. I painted them the color I wanted, they were easy to install and all hardware was included.
I really like this lift kit although I had to take a star off because one of my front shocks would not accept the nit properly and I will have to get another one
Purchased these to replace a previous set of after market fenders that in less than six-months had begun to bubble. I liked the rugged look of these fenders but to avoid having to constantly treat them to keep em black, I decided before mounting that I would have them rhino coated. I really like the look after rhino coating, but as a result it took a bit longer to install them. One learning point, since I had installed after market fenders earlier (those came with the side running lights) I had cut the bulb connectors off. These fenders are designed to fit the standard bulb connection so I'll have to look around and find some.
Work well. FYI The large beefy bolts showing are just for show.
Faded after a year, fake bolt heads are corroding, weatherstripping won't stay in the front flares and the pockets fill with water when it rains. Poor design, poorer quality. Going to replace them after this coming winter.
Good looking flares and completely cover my 35x12.50s. However, after less than a year in Charleston, SC, the included weatherstripping has shrunk a very large amount, even though I left a good 1 1/2 inches at either end of the flares when I installed them, it is now about 3/4 inch SHORT at either end of each flare. After several tries at cleaning the flares to get the weather strip adhesive to stick to the flares, I have given up, the rear fender has enough pressure to hold the weatherstrip in place but it constantly comes out along the top of the front flares, and has to be pushed back in. And it took less than two months for them to turn grey in the sun. Also, the bolts are pointless and for looks only, and will corrode upon their first contact with water. Overall a disappointing purchase, already looking to replace them.
Very poor quality. So bad they break in extreme cold. I consider myself an occasional offroader but these did not even hold up to a Montana winter.
I do not recommend them for anyone.
