Reviews for JKS Manufacturing Front Quicker Disconnects for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
High quality sway bar disconnects. I just purchased and installed these this week and I have to say that I am very pleased with them. Installation wasn't too bad with the worst part being the removal of the stock sway bar links. Took my time putting them in so it took close to an hour but I am very happy with how they turned out. These were installed on a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport with no lift.
These are great quality heavy-duty sway bar components. After lifting my JK 2.5-inches, I also installed the JKS adjustable track bar and flipped drag ink. The flipped drag link raised the height of the drag link to the point it was rubbing the sway bar when turned all the way to the right. Since the sway bar angle was now incorrect due to lifting the suspension, I purchased the JKS Sway Bar Quicker Disconnect struts so that adjustments could be made to return the sway bar back to a 0 degree angle, which would also correct the clearance between the sway bar and drag link. The kit came with clear directions, and components installed in about an hour. A measurement between the sway bar set at a zero angle and the lower mounting stud allowed me to set the struts length and install quickly with the spring loaded ring-clips. I was able to immediately notice a great improvement in steering and lateral control movement from the sway bar.
Nice quality, and feel very sturdy. The installation was a breeze, maybe a half hour tops. I submitted a pic.
I have a set for my 2001 TJ I've had for 10 years or more, real easy to use, these are for my sons jk
JKS is a solid brand, I had a BDS lift on my TJ and was very impressed with it
3-Stars: I was suggested to use the JKS quicker disconnects this past summer, but after 3 times of wheeling in the rain and/or freezing temps, I'm tired of going through the process of pulling out the "click pins", having a helper to rock the Jeep so I can slide the JKS quicker disco's off, zip tie the sway bar, go wheeling for 6 hours, coming back to the air-up stations, cutting off the zip ties, wiping dirt and mud off the mounting posts, then putting the JKS Quick-disco's back on. Also, if I run with only the drivers-side off, I've noticed the "click pins" on the passenger' side have become bent.
Nice product, very well made. However, despite what it says in the description, these do not include "Supplied storage pins." Had I known that ahead of time, I would have bought a different brand.
Quicker disconnects but not exactly quicker reconnects. You still have same struggle of finding a perfectly level strip of ground to reconnect although its probably slightly easier with these. The big flaw in these is that you really need to disassemble, re-grease and reassemble them quite regularly for the spherical bushings to remain mobile. Even with perfectly clean bushings and links, grease plumped in though the zerk will not wrap its way around the bushing. If you live in a winter/salt state, you'll lean that there is nothing you can do to keep the wall that encapsulates the bushings corrosion free. These are a lot of work to keep 100% functional
Good for when you're on the trail, but I've had about enough of the clicking and clacking these links do from going over the smallest bump. I've refastened them about 4 times now. 2 times with just the nuts they gave me. Lasts about a week before they start making clacking noises from the smallest bump. Added washers to them... same story, a week later 2/4 nuts come loose. Final time, completely removed them, cleaned out the threads and added thread sealant with the washers. Hopefully that's the final time I have to fasten them cause they're somewhat a PITA to do. Otherwise, just bring some latex gloves for removing them on the trail because naturally they will make your hands messy from the combination of dirt and grease and you're good to go.
