Reviews for Corbeau Moab Neoprene Reclining Front Seat Pair for 76-18 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler, Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK & Unlimited
I’m giving these seats 5 stars cause the seats themselves are awesome, very good quality! The thing I wasn’t expecting was how much higher they sit compared to the original seats. I’m 6’5” and fit in the original seats nicely, now I’m sitting where my head is higher than the side bars attached to the windshield. I hit my thighs getting in the Jeep now, all the angles have changed and I can sit-up straight and look above the windshield. I’m not sure exactly how the consumer or the seller can solve this, besides saying the base height is 4.5” on the Corbeau seat.
Just something to consider if you’re a tall guy like me! Enclosing pics so you can see the difference. Thanks!
Very comfortable seats! Recommend buying the Corbeau seat bracket for the driver side so it doesn’t sit as high
Just what I needed for the TJ. Firm but not unreasonable. Reclines very well. Thank God for You Tube. Instructions included are cryptic. No noticeable height difference. I’m 5’8” and 175 lbs. fit nicely between the bolsters. Great buy for the price. Took about 2 hrs to install not including the removal of original equipment, which is a bear after 20 years. Glad I got these.
These seats look and feel great! My '94 yj still had the stock seats and they were wore smooth out. Took me a while to decide on some seats, and finally decided to give these a try. I went with the neoprene because I run with the top and doors off all summer and get caught in quite a few downpours.
These seats bolted up nicely with my existing brackets (once I was able to get the old seats off, which was the hardest part of the install). These seats fit wider and taller than the stock seats. I'm a big guy and am still able to fit just fine after tilting the steering wheel up a bit. The width goes pretty much from the door to my Tuffy console without a lot of room between, which is nice. The height is going to take some getting used to. My center console isn't such a good armrest anymore as I'm now too high, and the shifter is a reach for 5th gear. Figure after a couple of weeks, I'll be comfortable again.
The ride is great. The cushions are firm, but they do give and do a great job of absorbing the bumps, making for a smoother ride.
As long as you are good with a little extra width and height, these seats are great. I haven't had them long enough to know about the wear of the neoprene, but I've already had to wipe them down with a wet cloth and they cleaned right up.
Beautiful fit perfect ride smoothly lotta compliments
Great seats they just hit the roll bar reclining, but I do recommend them they feel good.
worth the money
I bought directly from Corbeau, they do NOT bolt right in a '88 YJ.
I bought their adapter brackets and they were horrible, the seat was sitting flat instead of the tilt back and it put the seat right on the roll bar and pinched the seatbelt so the recline was worthless at this point. On top of that, the inside seat back either bent or the latch failed so it feels like I'm falling back to the middle. The passenger bracket wasn't even close to mounting up. You want to get into the back seat with the hardtop on? Forget about it, the front tilt doesn't do much and there's just no room. The seat also was pushed against the map pocket on my full door.
I ended up cutting the Corbeau brackets apart and welding them to the stock mounts. I do sit a little higher but what can you do. The passenger side seat had broken side plastic where the recline lever is.
The seats themselves are firm but after daily driving for a few months they soften up, I haven't hooked up the seat heaters yet so no review on that end. Overall, a disappointing seat for the price
Got these in June of 19 driver side is falling apart. The right side latch for the seat back on the drivers side has failed and now the seat is lopsided , almost not drivable , called corbeau they said "I don't know to tell you". Poor customer service. I bought them through Qadratec I will try calling them next.
Neoprene is not designed to be in the sun. These turned grey within a couple weeks of installing, and have since disintegrated. Besides that, the brackets get caught on the sliders if installed on the stock brackets, catching on the fabric. You can't slide the seats forward and back, and if you can, you are destroying the fabric under the seats.
