Reviews for Quadratec Axle Back Exhaust for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

I like it. Quality appears to be pretty good. Sound is not offensive. I had a MF i my previous Jeep and it sounded deeper but i like this Sound for the price point. Install was a breeze once I spent over an hour taking the old one out. I didn't give it 5 starts because the Quadratec logo appeared to be a bit faded out of the box. Not sure why because I waited 6 months to receive. It was back ordered when I placed the order. I figured they just built it so not sure why the logo was so faded. Otherwise it's a great product.
Exhaust arrived quickly and nicely packaged. Removal of stock muffler was the most difficult part of installation, but once removed, installation took 10 minutes. Sound is much better, generally a deeper rumble until you get into the pedal. Excellent inexpensive exhaust that looks great and sounds much better than stock.
Good price. Good sound. Good fit. A few things- the clamp that is provided is a joke. The spacer in mine snapped while hand tightening and we were nowhere near the 40ft-lbs the instructions recommend. Buy a proper exhaust clamp. Buy one or two replacement rubber isolators. We ended up having to destroy one to get it off. Buy a QUALITY exhaust hanger tool. The handle on ours snapped on the second isolator which is why we ended up having to wreck the isolator to get it off (we didn't want to cut the hanger on the exhaust to keep it complete).
This was installed on a 2017 Wrangler with a factory bumper and Quadratec hitch installed. It cleared the hitch. Barely, but it did clear. The install is solid and I've yet to hear any banging or rattles (bit it's still a brand new install).
I wish I could give 4.5 stars. I'm only docking a star because of the clamp.
This will not fit correctly with a stock bumper and hitch. I don't recall it stating that anywhere. Would be good to know before ordering. I am switching bumper out to a XRC Gen II that has a built in hitch so I hope that will fit ok.
Price and described performance
Exhaust fit well and was easy to install. The product was delivered in two days with expedited shipping. The item was a obviously a returned purchase, the return slip with the previous customer's name, address, phone number, etc. was still attached to the exhaust system. There was a small scratch on the top right exhaust tip and the supplied exhaust band clamp was not in the box. I didn't care about the scratch, but was a little annoyed that I had to go out and buy the proper clamp to install the exhaust system. A rather easy install took longer than needed and cost more money due to a lack of detail on the shipping and returns department.
Installed on 2014 Sahara. Installation was easy and everything fit perfectly. Removing the old muffler was another story. Someone posted in a review that their jeep was now louder. I think mine now sounds like a civic with a fatty pipe. Was hoping for more of a low rumble.....
It looks good, easy to install (if you get the right to remove the rubber support, don’t want to mess those up they are $15-$30 a piece). The pipe clamp is a bit on the lower budget end. My biggest complaint is that my OEM muffler with a soup can fix was an easy 10db quieter. This muffler has a deeper tone, almost to the point it sounds like I have no muffler. I would put my rating closer to 1.5/5 as it hits it out of the park for all but the most important category, and that category holds the most weight.
I really, really, really want to give this a better review but I can’t. I love the look it adds to the Jeep and it sounds perfect. But… I’ve had this cat back exhaust installed foe 1.5 months and driven my jeep less than 250 miles (it’s my play toy not primary vehicle) and the exhaust is already beginning to rust at the tips. I would expect this after significant use, maybe from damage off-roading, but after 250 miles of normal city driving?! What will it look like after 5,000 miles? I’d suspect at this rate it’s going to be completely rusted out.
