Reviews for MasterTop Bimini Top Plus & Wind Stopper Combo with Integrated Grab Handles for Jeep Gladiator JT
Quality of the product looks high and the combo price was great!
It has the wind stopper
4 stars, because once installed, it does what it's supposed to do. But installing is tedious. There are so many straps. But it keeps the interior relatively dry, and keeps the sun away, but let's the fresh air in.
First, don't bother using the included instructions. They're horrible. Go straight to YouTube and find an installation video you can reference during the actual installation.
Second, don't think this is a soft top you're going to throw on quickly when the sun gets too hot or a surprise shower catches you off-guard. Even an experienced installer will take at least 20 minutes and that's being generous.
Third, if you get the wind-stopper, it will require you to partially uninstall the top near the back and then reinstall it after the wind-stopper is in place (which wasn't easy either).
Fourth, most of the straps used to attach the top are twice as long as they need to be. And it's entirely on you to secure the slack when you're done - they don't offer any suggestions or easy storage options. Obviously you can just wrap and/or tuck, but good luck at faster speeds.
Fifth, after my first install, the top didn't look tight and clean as it does in the pictures. Hopefully that gets better as i get used to the cumbersome installation.
On the bright side, the front "seal" seems to be pretty tight/snug. I know it's not intended to be waterproof, but i feel like it'll hold up to moderate precipitation. So far I've only driven in a light mist, but me and the interior stayed mostly dry (doors were off too).
I recently drove at 70 mph and was fairly pleased with the performance. Some of the straps had their slack flapping violently, but the overall top performed well. I hope to get better at the installation which may alleviate some of these issues.
I read a review somewhere that indicated the driver's head touched the top while seated/driving. I don't have the best posture in the world but am 6'2" and had no problem with this.
In closing, my biggest complaints are the complexity of the installation and poor instructions. I wish this top was something you could grab and install in a few minutes, but better give yourself at least an hour (for the first couple times anyway). I did extensive research before buying this option. I didn't dislike it enough to return it, but it's not like most Jeep accessories that install with ease and functionality.
I should mention I drive a 2020 Gladiator.
Poor workmanship and quality on this top. Straps not sewn correctly and came off during installation process (without pulling)...also one strap on clip broke. Disappointed with the product, not Quadratec.
