Reviews for Rock Slide Engineering Gen III Step Sliders for 20-25 Jeep Gladiator JT
Extremely good installation instructions, well engineered product. If you want your Gladiator dressed up and easy to enter, these are the way to go! Rock-Slider Engineering support is also excellent.
The Gen3 steps fit perfectly, rear section of step angles into the body and under the fender flare. Requires two people to install. Great step.
Makes getting in and out easy while providing rocker protection!
Steps and strength
I installed these on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator with a 3.5 inch lift kit. After installing the lift kit my wife 5'3" was having a bit of trouble climbing up into my rig and since I want to put bigger rims and tires on I knew it would only get more difficult. After some research I settled on these bad boys, while a bit pricier than other options, everything I read was indicating these things are built like tanks and boy that is the truth!! They came extremely well packaged, I give them an A plus for that, these aren't going to be damaged in shipping!! The directions are a little vague in places such as where to run the wiring harness up to the battery, and you do have to find exactly the right spot to do that, other wise you can't get it hooked up an extra 6 inches on that end would have made my life a lot easier!! The rest of the installation is pretty straight forward, although loosening those body bolts is a real chore and beating the mounting brackets into place is no fun at all!! Take your time with the gasket thing, definitely use some painters tape to lay it out first. If you are a DIY guy do yourself a favor buy a creeper!! Also DO NOT tighten any of the bolts until you have them all started. These things are heavy!! Unless you are a young strong like bull guy you will need another person to help get them in place but once they are in place they are not going any where while you start on all the bolts. The rest of the wiring isn't all that bad, although it would have been helpful if the connector had been labeled, as the instructions are a little vague in that regard. Once I had them installed and wired up I had a bit of an issue with them not working on one side, so a called customer service and spoke to I believe it was Justin or Jason and he couldn't have been more helpful, he walked me through troubleshooting and it was an issue with my magnet placement (they should probably include the troubleshoot procedure for that in the manual) but on the upside the customer service is great, I called got right through and was helped right away!! I also installed the door delete kit and the lights which was pretty simple, although if I had to do it over again I would not have installed them for the backdoors as that is rather redundant. After all that hard work, all I can say is it was worth it!!! They look great, they work great!! I'm pretty sure that when my truck finally retires to the junkyard these will be the last thing left of it!!!!! Yes they are a bit on the expensive side, but you can see where that money went, the quality on these is outstanding and I don't say that lightly, I work in the quality department of a manufacturing company, so I'm pretty damn picky!! These hit all the marks in form and function. Oddly enough for reason I don't really understand, watching that step come down when I open the door just makes me smile a bit, kinda like my truck is saying, "Hey lets go for a ride!" Better yet my wife loves them and even SHE thinks they are worth the expense!!
