Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11238.15 License Plate Holder
This is the best option for relocating the license plate. I wish the bumpers had built in brackets, but they don’t. So this bracket is the easiest solution. The tire mounted option needs a lot of extra work to route the wire for the lighting and needs to be removed if you need to remove the spare.
Clean design
I replaced the original plastic bumper with the Rugged Ridge 11548.51 Spartan Full Width Rear Bumper. That meant I needed a new solution for the license plate. I wanted to have the option to use a tire cover so I decided to go with this bumper-mounted license plate holder. It required some drilling into the bumper. I made two holes to mount the holder. I also drilled a third hole to feed the wiring. Once mounted, the holder is solid and not going anywhere.
Installation is easy. You may need to use extra wires to be able to reach the plug on your car (if this happens remember you will need extra crimps to splice those in).
Take your time when drilling into the bumpers and don't skip drill bit sizes too much.
One tip is to try and measure where you want to install the holder and drill before the bumper is mounted to make it easier to drill through.
Works great and the included lights keep you legal on the road. Recommended

Built heavier than stock, looks good.
