Reviews for Mopar 82215652AD Trailer Brake Controller for 20-24 Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT
It's worth using the factory part for reliability and to have a cleanly integrated control knob on the dash.
As a note my 2024 only had one hole in the aluminum casting, used by the harness pine tree wiring tidy. I had to drill another hole in the casting for the second bolt and that was just miserable. Photos show previous years having two sets of two holes so someone at Jeep changed the machining of the casting without being aware the holes were in use.
Clean factory look and a must have for towing heavier loads with your JL or JT. It is always safer to tow trawlers with e-breaks or surge breaks when using a Jeep as your tow vehicle. Highly recommended.
MOPAR FACTORY REPLACEMENT PART
The best selection for any type of jeep
Great product love that it’s factory there are a few downsides though. The provided instructions are horrible. Hardest part of install is removing the 12volt plug and mounting the actual controller. Had to watch a couple of YouTube videos to figure out some of the pictograms in the install instructions. Overall easy install about 30 mins if you know how to remove trim panels and would recommend to anyone looking for a trailer brake controller
I tried a third party brake controller first - this is much, much better. Only issue I had with it is that it should be included in the tow package with the JT from the start, but if you need a brake controller for the JT, get this one.
Great factory install, only issue are the instructions are hard to follow. On the 12v outlet push on the blue part toward the passenger area and it will move out (tool noted in instructions is not included, but not needed) For the controller. there is a metal bracket by your left foot with pre drilled holes. The instructions make it look higher up in the dash. The harness and other items are easy to install. This would make a great install video on Quadratec
Worked flawlessly on my 2021 JL Ecodiesel
