Is there a difference between this receiver and the Hitch Kit (82215209)?
68251844AB is the hitch only and 82215209 is with hardware and a hitch plug. Thanks for your inquiry.
does it mont easily in the front or should I loo for something else I have a 21 JL
This is not for front mounting. The following Curt brand front receiver hitch is offered. Curt Front JL Hitch
If I don't already have the towing package, does that mean I need to purchase the version with the wiring?
If you are planning on using the hitch for towing of any type then you will need the wiring kit as well. If you are merely adding the receiver for accessories like bike racks, carriers and baskets then the wiring kit is not necessary.
Will it work on the Ecodiesel avoiding the DEF tank bracket ?
Yes, it will.
Will this hitch work with the Ecodiesel? Other manufacturers hitches for the JL have interference with the DEF tank skid plate/mounting bracket.

I'm trying to install this hitch, and removed the 2 bolts that came factory on it. However, the threaded nuts on the bracket that came factory...is in the way when I try to install. I have2020 2 door Rubicon, with plastic step bumper. How do I remove the bracket that has threaded bolts, so I can put the hitch in the place?

What is the difference between this version of hitch receiver and the one 225 USD
This does not include any hardware for installation. It assumes that the hitch is already on the Jeep and is being replaced, reusing the original hardware.
Does this hitch allow keeping the L bracket that holds the plastic bumper. If not do any of the hitches you sell allow that L bracket and spacer to stay on the Jeep?
Yes. This is designed to work with that bumper only as it is unique. You do not lose any parts or capability installing this.
