Reviews for QuadraTop Fastback Conversion Replacement Fabric Only for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Just installed today, kind of challenging to do solo, but I removed the old top and installed the new one in about 2 1/2 hours. 80 degree weather and sunny. Still, it went on just fine. Instructions were a bit confusing, need to be clearer on part description. Very happy with it.
Fastback
as in the other review the instructions have small pictures and are a little vague on a few points but if you are mechanically inclined its not a big deal. took me 3 hours by myself the first time. i recommend 80+ degree day as yes the first time it WILL fight you as its never been stretched before. for those concerned about it, this is totally reversible if you want to go back to the factory top.the description is slightly misleading. it says with the rear bow removed. they give you the other bows needed. you will reuse your header, front bows from the hinge forward to the header, your door surrounds, roll bar brackets ,and the tailgate bar. so if anything else is damaged on your original set you are still good. if you dont have this type of top then these should be all you need to get to use this top. FITMENT. i have seen reviews for similar tops that complain that it needs 1\2" more material to make it easier to put on. no. this fits tight as a drum. as it should because it will stretch and loosen over time.its supposed to be tight.again it WILL fight you the first time. be prepared. the other review also mentioned the window doesnt attach to to the door surround. it does. it fits into the groove like the factory one. the online instruction seem to omit a part that you will get in the box. its a drip cap for over the door on 07-09s. over all seems well made if a bit frustrating to put on. well well worth the money. time will tell how it holds up over time
I recently installed this top on my 2009 2 door Jeep Wrangler. The quality of materials seems good. No broken zippers. I do have 3 concerns:
1- The instruction manual and installation video was made for a previous edition of this soft top. The video shows zippers at the top of the quarter windows, I had "C" channels. On the video and manual the header had to be assembled. My header cam already assembled which made this a bit confusing
The instruction manual pictures were too small to decipher certain finished assembly appearances as it took 5 + hours between two people, to finally figure out the assembly and do it.
2- As you see by the pictures, the front vertical edges of both quarter window panels do not attach to the vertical pillar of which the back of the doors close upon. As a result, as you can see by the pictures, this edge is not secure and is further pulled up by the wind while you're driving. I call customer service and they told me that is the design and that the door alone is suppose to secure this leading edge! Can someone who knows the design please contact me to confirm this or suggest how this connection can be more secure?
3- As you can also see by the pictures, the top canopy has loose ripples on both sides above the Jeep's speakers. The vehicle has been out in the sun, top closed for 3 days now. Is there a way to fix this?
