Reviews for Boom Mat Sound Deadening Headliner & Hardtop Sides Kit for 11-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-Door
Immediate return on investment, makes the noise level MUCH more tolerable in my JK, and now I can hear even MORE detail from my new speakers! Looks great, cut to fit. Don't scrimp, get the real stuff. Boom mat is IT.
Installed on a 2013 & 2018 today. Simple install and a game changer on the noise level in the Jeeps. The only complaint is the window pieces weren't cut right and needed slight modification. Took us 1.5 hours to do both Jeeps.
This was exactly what I was looking for to reduce the exterior noise. Installation was easy and immediately beneficial. On the test drive, noticed internal heat reduction and road noise was greatly reduced both driving in the city and on the highway at 80mph (with high winds).
For installation: Instructions are included. Prep included cleaning with a general purpose cleaner (not necessary) and isopropyl alcohol (recommended).
Each of the 18 filler foam strips are labeled with corresponding section identifiers, however the instructions are not clear as to which section the strips should be placed. Filler strips will not exceed the length of the grooved area and were easy enough to figure out. Word of caution, try not to press down the headliners or sides until you are satisfied with the positioning, the adhesive is pretty good.
The kit is high quality was able to install with ease, took about two hours. However they ship in a smaller box and the two larger foam pieces for over rear seat and cargo area are folded in half which caused large creases in the foam which do not come out. Very disappointed you have this great product nice a clean looking, then you have these creases right down the middle. I would expect better packaging for something I paid more than $400.00 for
Agree with Joseph. I gave the manufacturer every opportunity to make this right. I ordered 2 sets of these, and they both arrived in different-sized boxes, but both terribly packed. Several of the pieces were folded and creased because they ship these items in a box smaller than the size of the larger foam pieces. The creases are obvious (and avoidable) and even caused some of the imitation leather material to separate from the foam. I'd attach a photo if I could. I spent weeks attempting to fix the issue and even offered for them to send/trade for the non-leather-like items that they stated were less susceptible to the creasing. Ultimately, I returned both having spent significantly more time than one would expect to have just installed them had they arrived in an acceptable condition. I am not happy to have returned them but did as the company was unwilling to really give any attention to the issue. My offer for them to do right remains open.
