Reviews for Bushwacker 11.75" Width Pocket Style Fender Flares in OE Style Matte Black Finish for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door
bring this to a shop to install!!. was told that the plastic is more fragile than OEM plastic and to be careful when cleaning snow off it. do NOT bang on them when its cold/frozen/snowy as they will crack
Look good on the JKU and cover the 35" tires ( just ). Plastic seems lower quality than the OEM fenders, but it is still decently tough. Two of the U-Nuts ( Clip Nut ) broke during install ( seem a little weak ). But overall they do the job and look decent enough. If the plastic was better quality and the nuts did not break ( not over tightened ), would have rated 5.
I installed the front one yesterday and has to do a lot of modifications to the flares in order to get the pre-drilled holes to align with the inner flare supports and mounting clips ( two of which broke easily) ...definitely not worth the price paid for ....will see it goes later in the week installing the rear flares as took me and buddy almost 5 hours to install the front ones due to the unnecessary but necessary modifications to the front fender flares!!!
Installed this kit today 1 of the front inner flares was not drilled on 1 side, the sidemarker housings did not have holes drilled and lenses set back too far inside the flares when installed. The clips broke easily as stated in another review. Fit was very poor I had to egg out mounting holes to get the bolts in and after all that the flares still didn't lay nice around the top edges. Very poor quality for the cost IMO.
Just don't buy it. Nothing lines up. Instructions have omissions and errors. U-clips are too thin to slide over the rear splash shield and crack ( you'll need to grind down the plastic to put those on safely, and the plastic is thicker there BY DESIGN). Not enough u-nuts were in the kit. Holes for the side-marker housing were wrong size. Plastic, by the looks of it, is the cheapest ABS they could get their hands on. It discolored when I rubbed it with isopropyl alcohol to attach the gimp. It scratches when you look at it funny and is supposed to be on an off-road vehicle. In other words it is not a product - it's a travesty.
