Reviews for Quadratec Dual Steering Stabilizer for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
I did not realize how much I was compensating for my vehicle's steering drift on the highway until I had the Quadratec Dual Steering Stabilizer installed. All of the minute left and right incremental drifts are minimized to almost nothing and driving is more relaxed with my Jeep's oversized wheels and tires.
Great stabilizer. I still have stock tires on my 19 sport. Honestly the feedback in the steering wasn’t horrible. I installed this stabilizer because I am getting ready to put on 35’s. Night and day difference. I feel no feedback at all at speeds up to 75mph. I use to have to make little corrections driving down the highway. Haven’t had to do that since this was installed.
Good reviews.
The U Bolts are too short, even when tightened up the thread is barely half way in the nut, all 4 u bolts were like that. I dont trust that will hold. Standard is to have a minimum of bolt diameter engagement this is like 3/16" engagement. Also one of the shocks was so stiff it was very difficult to pull out or push in, the other was no problem.
The issue I'm experiencing with the Quadratec Dual Steering Stabilizer is the following:
It is on my wife's daily driver. In a recent rain storm on night she was driving home and got the Jeep Death Wobble so bad she had to pull over. This happened 2 days after the install and less than the 100 mile re torque instructed.
When she got home I noticed the stabilizer shocks were no longer 1/4" from the tie rod as when installed per directions...they were 1-1/4" to 1-1/2".
I moved the stabilizers back to 1/4" and re torqued the nuts to 30 ft/lbs. After this incident I re torqued the nuts to 30 ft/lbs daily for 3 days. I noticed last week the stabilizers had moved again a little bit, so I readjusted to 1/4" and re torqued.
The issue appears to be the plate attached to the differential is not thick enough and is bending. I would re torque to 30 ft/lbs again, BUT the large U-bolts are running out of threads.
Well I have had this for about a year....The stabilizer is great for driving tracks great no wander but when I turn full lock right I get a clunk and the bracket hits my sway bar .or a nut on the opposite side based on position. I have reinstalled a few times constantly have tried to adjust it but I cannot get the proper clearance.. I am at a loss and now buying a different one...Personally the ubolts are very tight there is insufficient thread engagement overall just not made well. I have had to grind the bracket to try to get rid of the clunk...bottom line buy a nice one the first time
