Reviews for MasterTop Ultimate Summer Soft Top Combo for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
I like being able to use my factory top!
Has the side covers that I wanted
Keep the rain out
fit was great, looked just like the factory fabric, did its job well.
Unlike the others like this. This one has the rear cab corner enclosure pieces. You can run this top all summer even if it rains.
This combo is great. Way easier and more convenient than taking off and storing the OEM soft top windows which don't store well inside the Jeep. I don't see how any water could get in unless you point a hose at the gap above the window. I didn't have any trouble installing - it took about 20 minutes the first time. The pictures in the instructions aren't good. I found that the farthest straps from center go around both the roll bar and soft top track, the next around the roll bar only, the next attach to the "curtain" and the last strap goes under the seat belt. Easier if you start with the far straps and work back to the middle once the side cover is snapped into the window channel. The tonneau is tight, but wasn't a struggle for me. Once installed, you only need to undo the 2 far straps to open/close the soft top. Great solution to store in the Jeep if you want to keep things dry when a summer rain comes.
I like this accessory a lot. I got the mastertwill, and although no rain gets in you have to watch the rear plastic window with the power wash cuz it’s partially open. I was tight putting the tonneau cover on but will likely stretch over time and still fit rather than being loose. My ONLy gripe is the rear seatbelts don’t retract well because the tonneau wrap on the roll bars restrict it unless it stretches over time. Great addition since I no longer have to worry about soft top windows in the summer
I love it, this will be great for the summer. The only reason for the 4 stars, is the back tonneau cover is very tight. I understand it is new and it will stretch but this seemed a bit too tight compared to others. It was extremely frustrating and I had to take several breaks because my hands were cramping up. I hope over time it gets a little easier.
Waited for this order since early June and it finally arrived
pros- Well made, twill is similar fabric to the top, looks great and covers the cargo area
con's- instructions are awful. The pictures are tiny and it's hard to figure out which straps are which. Top seems to be way too tight imo. I've had to stretch tops in the past and knew what to expect but this tonneau is extremely tight and seems a tad too small.
Lastly to the poster asking about whether the top can be dropped with this on, the quadratec answer is wrong. You can drop the top but you have to remove a set of straps drop the top and reattach the straps
The concept is good, but the execution comes up short. First off, the tonneau cover itself is fine other than being super difficult to put on because it is so tight. I see that some seem to have this issue and others don't and I wonder if the diamond material is easier to stretch than the twill. Hopefully, it will stretch out so next time it won't be so bad. The windjammer/side curtain portion was more difficult than it should have been to install because of some quality control issues. A few of the straps were shorter on one side than the other, which made it more difficult to get them looped in. Also there are 2 straps that screw into the back roll bar that are too short which causes the attached D-ring to not fit properly. I was able to get it to work after some finagling and a lot of cursing, but I don't want to ever take it off and do it again.
