Reviews for Body Armor JK-2965 Rear Full Width Base Bumper for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Good product
Awesome fit with my factory tow package. Super easy install with two people. looks great.
Works with my factory hitch and gives me protection and works with my Gobi roof rack and it's rear brackets that most aftermarket bumpers don't.
The design will allow the bumper to work with the factory hitch and the rear brackets for my gobi roof rack.
If you receive this damaged then the UPS driver really tried! The way it's packed there's no way it's getting damaged in shipping. Great bumper, I like that you can ad aux back up lights, which I may do later but the hardware they send with it for the blind plates is almost too small. The nuts and bolts will try to slip through the mounting holes. You either have to use larger washers or larger nuts and bolts as I did which is why I gave it 4 stars. Also I only had about 3/4" clearance of the stock spare tire. I guess you can adjust the bumper some but I don't see getting more than another 1/2" or so but they do sell a separate spare tire carrier for a larger tire . I chose this bumper because I can use the OEM trailer hitch. The other bumpers that have the hitch they say aren't rated for towing. Once I finally got the stock bumper off, which wasn't too bad except for the tow hook. 2 of the 3 blind nut welds broke so the purchase a 24mm wrench, heat and about 2 hrs later I got it off. The actual installation of the bumper took every bit of 15 mins by myself. For the money I think it's one of the best bumpers out there.
I wanted a decent quality and reasonably priced rear bumper to replace my stock plastic bumper. This one appeals to me with its handsome, minimalist and classy styling. I like the ability to add lights and d-rings in the future. I ran into a small issue with installation: I was happy to see this bumper supports OEM hitch; I have previously installed Quadratec Premium 2" hitch receiver and I assumed would be OK too. After removing the stock bumper I set about to line up the mounting holes, but I had struggled to get them right. It finally dawned on me to remove the rubber hitch cover from the receiver and voila! The bumper sits snugly over the hitch and I was finally able to complete the installation. There is absolutely no gap between the bumper and the top of the hitch receiver opening. At least the bumper is flush with the hitch so I guess oh well no more hitch covers! Thankfully I did not have to remove the hitch receiver or that would have been a pain. Otherwise a wonderful product and would have been a straightforward install.
