Reviews for Lange Originals 014-GEN2 Hoist-A-Cart Gen 2 for 07-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & JK
This works great at a price tag much less than the top lift pro. I am 5”1 female and I am able to use it to take my hard top off myself! I am in love!! Highly recommend this top lift.
Great product. Assembled easy and works as advertised. Watch the assembly video on Youtube. The only suggestion I would make is that when your attaching the crank handle onto the winch, do what the instructions say and only thread it onto the shaft until it hits the brake disc. I tightened it to much and it would not go in reverse. Overall I am very satisfied and recommend this product. Also, fast shipping from Quadratec, thanks guys.
I recently purchased the Lange Original Hoist-A-Cart Gen 2 in the middle of the Covid-19 crisi in late April. The unit arrived within two weeks. It comes disassembled in two boxes which can be intimidating for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of experience putting products like this together. But it was a relatively simple and straightforward assembly. It took me close to three hours, but could easily be done in half that time by those with more experience at these things than me. In addition, there are very helpful videos on YouTube to aid in the assembly. The bottom line, the Hoist-A-Cart worked perfectly. Removing my Jeep Hard Top is now a simple, one-person job. I highly recommend this product.

This GEN-2 hoist is great!! I love it. Thanks
What a great Cart. Got my top off in minutes. The instructions were good and found extra video instructions by doing a youtube search for hoist a cart gen 2. Great fast shipping by quadratec. this is a must have for jeep owners to remove the top.
Overall I am very pleased with the hoist-a-cart. It worked flawlessly to remove and re-install the top on my JLU by my self. Why the 4 stars and not 5? Well I look at it this way - n the cart is designed to hold the top and front doors. What about the back doors? What about the freedom top panels? It would be preferable to me to have a version that held the whole top for the JLU (freedom panels plus rigid top) vs. some of the top and some of the doors. I get it…real jeeps are 2 door and this addresses that. I used to have a TJ and understand the ‘real jeeps are 2 door’ mentality. I have had it myself. But I’ve come to appreciate the benefits of a 4-door jeep. The hoist-a-cart works flawlessly to remove and re-install a hard top by myself. I would just like to see a cart more focused on a 4-door jeep…
I did not want he hassle of installing a roof rack and then finding a place to store the hard top. This rack seems easy to operate with one person and the added benefit of easy, movable storage within my garage. Only rating 4 stars because I do not have the product yet and don't know how well it will work in the "real world" of my garage.
Straps and not cables, sliding bottom for top and ability to hang doors on it also.
Ok where should I begin. The paper instructions really didn’t help much ( black and white) . You cant figure out installing it but the on line video is so much better! Made it so simple. But in my case after putting it together out side of my garage I found out I couldn’t roll it in. The garage door was too low so I had to wind down the top to the floor, lower the top hinge bracket pass the lower screw (which I don’t use any more) in order to roll it inside.(not in the storage stage) then raise the top hinge bracket back up to put the hard top in the storage position but be in mine that if you have a low ceiling you will need to move it far back in the garage because it will not raise high enough due to the open garage door being in the way. After spending much time on how to make it work I finally got it in and store. This works best if your garage has 10ft opening. But I can say you can remove your hardtop bu your self, something I was looking for. Love the straps instead of the wires. In all I’m glad I got this and after knowing how to take the hardtop off and storing it I’m impressed! Just a couple of extra steps to get it in and out of the garage. I will be using this for the summer / winter hardtop on and off.
Got a good deal and wanted to be able to take my top off by myself because it’s awkward, heavy and big. It was pretty easy to assemble but you really have to watch the online tutorial video - the instructions provided are pretty terrible. But, it assembled easy enough. I used it already and got the top off. But, you have to be really careful in how you put the hook and rear hanger on the cables. My first attempt had the roof much higher in the back when lifting. It still worked but was just not right. Easy enough to fix by adjusting the cable length at the hook and hanger. The crank arm is way too slow so be very patient. Very very patient. Also, the roof and hoist just take up a lot of space. My garage ceiling is really high so the hanging lift wouldn’t be ideal so this works. All in all, so far so good and glad I bought it.
