Reviews for MasterTop Summer Combo Top Plus for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
Love it; have traveled hundreds of miles using summer combo only; have been caught it rain and been good to go!

Improve center retention system (above rear view mirror) for bimini top portion; if this is not cinched appropriately, wind becomes issue, even at city speeds
Really good quality. Looks great. Only issue I have is the front straps that go between windshield and roll bar should be of a hard plastic for about two inches as getting through that area is somewhat challenging as straps tend to fold up into itself. To avoid headache I loosen the 4 windshield bolts to make passing straps through easier.
So it does what it claims; and looks decent on the Jeep. We drove it for the afternoon, had a touch of rain and shine, even enjoyed a local beverage.
All in all however, the buckle attachment system leaves a lot to be desired. Everything says to pull tight, but most of the buckles don't really tighten well and the sewing on the straps pulls immediately. One broke immediately on tightening. We improvised and doubled two straps through the front freedom top connector buckle. I am curious to know how this does by summers end.
While I like it it has issues. On the JL the instructions do not give you correct details for the Center straps. We even asked and they replied that they can't even see instructions. lol. So the front comes up when you get over 40MPH. Unless I can get some better instructions or ideas of how to fix this I will be returning it. The Rear Window and Truck Covers are Perfect.
I have never been so disappointed with a purchase before. The center straps for the windshield do not have any place to strap into making it impossible to drive over 35 MPH. I will be returning it if there is not resolution. Everything else fits like a glove..
I ordered this back in the spring and just tried to put it on for the warm weather. It was difficult to just attach the windstopper around the rollback. The tonneau cover I thought would be the easy part.. nope. Took it over to my friend that is an engineer and because of the way the seal is on the cover near the tailgate it doesn't fit properly. I have yet to get the other side attached to underneath the metal lip.
Terrible option if you don't live in the desert. The installation works well, but is time consuming so you will not want to put this on/off frequently. If you get rained on with this top it is horrible. I was fine with the few "gaps" and that a little water would get in - no biggie...it is a Jeep, right? The issue is that the tops sags under the weight of the water and collects the rain. As soon as you go to drive, you get GALLONS pouring in one side or the other. No way I can think of to "get rid of the water" without moving. This product is not what I imagined - an alternative to my hard top for the summer that I could put on/take off easily or could keep my car mostly dry if is does rain.
This isn't a great alternative for a top if you are trying to keep any sort of weather out of the jeep. It takes some time to put on and doesn't fit well. It also wraps around the roll bars so if it is raining, all of the water dumps inside the Jeep because it doesn't extend out past the interior of the Jeep. I take the hard top off in the spring and tend to leave it off until late fall so I was hoping for more of a bikini/suntop option like I had for my old Jeep - this isn't it. It is a good quality top that is well made, but the design is flawed in that it doesn't actual serve to keep weather out. I should note that I haven't found any option that works well due to the construction of the Jeep when you have a hard top so it may not be this top as much as the design on the new Jeep.
Im not sure if automotive manufactures and motorcycle manufactures hire the same people to write installation instructions,. but these are the worst. I love how they show the simple photos but not the "we left these items left to be discovered by driveway engineers" items. The slide the straps over the front window bar have to be the worst design. Utter garbage, and I install quite a bit of equipment. Can see them being returned this week.
Hard to install and the directions don't match up with what you need to do. You have to feed the straps under the interior trim which involves pulling your trim down to the point you could break it. I was never able to get all 4 front straps fed under the interior trim.
Every strap you have to feed is difficult. None fit correctly. Total disappointment. Sending it back.
