Reviews for Oracle Lighting 5853-504 Smoked LED Front Side Markers for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & 2021 Gladiator JT
Looks great.
Fit really good.
I really like how it looks!
I have other Oracle lighting products and am happy with them.
ORACLE MAKES A GREAT PRODUCT EASY TO INSTALL!
Brighter than stock and low cost!
The blacked out look is really nice
The review from Tom P on installation is spot on. I followed this exactly and it was less than an hour for both sides. please read his review. You do NOT have to drill out the rivet as stated on the Oracle Instruction video.
The biggest PITA is getting the Torx screw back in. Its really difficult to get in, especially on the passenger side where I was trying to do it left handed (weak hand). it kept falling off my screwdriver. I found that a bit of painters tape in between my bit and the head of the screw was enough to keep it on and maneuver the screw into the tight spot.
Product gets 5 stars without a doubt. However, DO NOT go by the Oracle Youtube video on how to install them - as it requires you to drill out on of the rivets that support the fender flare WITHOUT REPLACING IT!! - Please read through this entire list BEFORE doing the job to avoid any WTF moments. The first light took me a little over an hour to install the second one took 20 minutes! First thing I did was to test the lights to ensure they worked by disconnecting one of the harnesses for the existing side marker and connected the new ones, one at a time to test them. Now the fun starts. Remove three of the plastic tabs as the video states but only remove the two 8mm screws from the fender, bend the plastic fender shroud back over the tire just enough to get to the screw that secures the side marker light (yes, it is tough to get to). I found using a 1/4 inch nut driver with a 1/4 inch 25 torx bit the best and fastest way to get to the screw. Once you loosen the screw and the light is disconnect MAKE SURE YOU KEEP PRESSURE ON THE SCREW and grab it with your fingers and leave it set in the holder. To install the light, feed the wire through the same hole as the original. line up the side marker light screw hole with the screw (Pressure still against the screw with your 25 torx bit) and tighten the screw keeping slight pressure on the light pushing it towards the screw. Make sure the light alignment is good and tighten. Connect harness and test prior to reversing the steps above to reconnect the fender shroud. This is the 6th jeep I have owned - Love them and all the goodies we can add to them - this add on really is subtle but so awesome looking!!
I absolutely recommend this if you are looking for a more sleek look! It’s perfect on my black Willys!
