Reviews for Corbeau Safari Bench Seat
WOW- What Quality
Seat is good quality and solid. The instructions are quite poorly written. If you own a CJ, an important step of instillation is #11 and it is not clear.
11. Orient the left and right side lock down brackets with the opening towards the top and rear of the vehicle. Place a lock down bracket over the lock pin. The bracket should be at a 10 degree angel to the floor with the bottom of the bracket tilted toward the rear.
I think it should state "the opening should face the rear". A picture or two would improve the instructions significantly.
With some work, it will be fine for a CJ, but was obviously designed for a YJ. The primary hinge brackets must be drilled (7/16") to fit the original bolts. The provided bolts are too small and the holes fit the provided hardware. No lock washers are provided so I would recommend using lock tite or some sort of locker. I also had to replace the cotter pins because the provided junk was too far out of shape to work. One of the plastic feet shattered after installation when the seat slipped out of my hand and fell to the bed (~1-foot).
It folds up about 3/4 of the way (much like the original YJ fold n tumble). You'll need a strap or rope to hold it up.
Overall it's OK, just not as good as I'd hoped from Corbeau.
