Reviews for Quadratec Aluminum Brute Strength Winch Bumper for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Installed on 2010 JK-U. Love the lighter weight and the look. It seems very well made. Also like that it’s hilift jack compatible in spite of being aluminum. Waiting on Christmas to add the winch. Well packaged. The directions could be better. They seemed to repeat one of the steps twice and left out a step as a result. Once I figured that out it went reasonably well. Took me about 4 hours. Fortunately I have a neighbor well stocked with tools. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if possible, The only drawback was the confusion with the directions. Obviously I can’t yet speak to its durability over time, but as I said earlier, I’m impressed with its strength to weight ratio..
The stylings great however the fairly Nuts are not aligned properly I’ve had the bumper for about a year and all the attaching hardware has corroded
So, this is the real first time I had a big issue with a Quadratec product. The insturctions were off were it says under fig.15 install M10 x 20 bolts. It really means install 12 mm hex bolts as it states at the end of page 7 to tighten them later on. But the big part that got me was where I secure the bumper to the winch plate at the fairlead mounting holes. I ended up stripping two of the M10 allen head bolts there as the nuts where not straight at the holes on the winch plate. I found this out while trying to clean up the nuts with a tap. It may also be that the holes are not in aligment with the tow hook holes. As I couldn't get then mounted with the bolts paritialy in place for the fairleads mount. Also some of the nuts for the tow hooks where a bit rough as I had to use the tap to clean a few of them up too. I'm figuring to knock out the nuts for the fairlead and JB weld some on that are straight. Good quality checks on this.
Seems to be a good product but did not include correct hardware and had no fog light brackets as described by product description I’ve been without my jeep for over a week waiting for what I need to finish the job
