Reviews for DV8 Offroad BCFLJL-01 LED Fog Lamp Pair for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT
Looks
Awesome
I did not have the issue of needing to swap the carrier buckets that I have seen posted. Perhaps the buckets have been revised. Installation was very straightforward. Jeep's use of the reusable plastic rivets on the lamp covers (rear of bumper) make this a breeze. I adjusted the lamps to mimic the stock fog light elevation. Very easy to do by leaving one factory light in-place and installing one new light. Turn both on and adjust the new unit to match the beam cut-off of the stock unit. From there, match the elevation for the new unit. In the end I found that these lights can be set a bit higher in elevation than the stock units. I installed the JW Speaker headlights at the same time. When both systems are adjusted to their best elevation, this is a profoundly excellent lighting system. On par with German sport lighting for 1/6 the cost. The fog lights perform extremely well. The color temp is 5000K+ so the light is stark white. The side cast is also excellent with no perceptible backscatter or shadowing. Harness adaptors are top quality, sealed connections that fit together properly. Excellent product. I have no problem recommending this system.
Great product. Looks good, much improved light output and a very easy install.
Just got these and installed on my 2020 JT Gladiator. Lights work great, good cutoff line and fill below the headlights.
However, the brackets included are incorrect. When I installed them out of the box, they didn't fit (as a previous reviewer noted). I had to reverse sides and install them upside down (bracket has a "top" marking on it. But when I did this, the lights and the fill, went up into oncoming driver's eyes instead of filling in the ground up to the headlights. These fog lights are directional and the center "eye" has to be on the top of the lights. I had to remove the adjustment screw, pull the light out of the bracket, and flip it 180 degrees in the bracket. Then reinstall. This allowed the lights to mounted correctly, with bracket mounted upside down.
This kit appears to have all you need for "plug and play" including 3 fastener, 4 fastener style brackets and a couple harness adapter choices. I was happy to see the lights were installed in the 3 fastener brackets I needed out of the box, oriented up with the "TOP" engraving on the bracket. (see pic). However, in this configuration, the mounting holes and guide nubs do not line up with the bracket on the back side of the bumper. I submitted a pic of this but it did not get posted. My solution, rather than cut up my bumper or the mounting brackets, was to reinstall the light in the 3 point brackets rotated 180 degrees or up side down. Then mount the brackets up side down or with the "TOP" engaging oriented on the bottom on the opposite side of the jeep. For what ever reason, they fit ok that way. It's appears a designer got crossed up performing a 3D CAD mirror function or something. Confusing I know, just know that if you need the 3 fastener bracket for you plastic bumper-ed sport trim, you will have to do some trickery. The performance of the lights is real nice.
Two of the screw taps broke off, one from each light.
