Reviews for Overland Outfitters Sherpa Saddle Bag Pair for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Seem to be well built with quality materials. I really like that the buckles have a quick release button. This way you get the classic strap look, but a more modern functionality. No need to ever buckle or unbuckle because of this button. I did have one small hiccup installing. The grommets were too tall, not compressed enough. So my factory hard top bolts were unable to get a thread started. I was able to squeeze down and compress the grommets with my pliers wrench, all is good now.
I had to re-engineer the driver's side attachment strap that required stripping out the zipper, repositioning, and resewing. I really like the bags (Five-Stars) and the added storage is wonderful.
Very nice quality bags. Same issue as others, the mounting grommets are in the wrong place. Passenger side fits okay, driver's side is off about 3-4".
SAME PROBLEM 2015 JK RUBICON
Received these bags this afternoon. The quality of the bags is over the top outstanding- I mean they are like having a super high quality messenger bag.
The problem is that the mounting straps absolutely WILL NOT FIT A 2018 2-DOOR WRANGLER JK CONVERTIBLE. NONE of the holes in the mounting straps line up with the holes on my Wrangler.
Wholly disappointed that the mounting straps are quite useless, as the bags themselves are outstanding.
Got these bags in today. Should have read the reviews on it. The bag construction is not bad. It's the mounting/zippers that are the issue.
Zippers: They were missing metal grommets for the holes on one of the holes, not a big deal. The zipper metal stops came right off as I switched the zippers from the 4 door zippers to the 2 door zipper. You'd think they would use metal stops that pierce the fabric to hold better.
Mounting: cant say for 4 door. But the 2 door mounting zippers definitely do not align.
Overall thoughts: If you have the time and basic knowledge, you can fix it yourself. But for $200, you would figure that it would not be the case. They need get their quality control alot better. Would not recommend anything from Overland Outfitters.
