Reviews for Hi-Lift TT-1000 Trail Trak Roll Cage Track Mounting System for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
My only concern was the hi lift would be right in my view out back but to my relief it never bothers me at all. A great location to keep jack dry and out of the elements. Highly recommend!!
It wont be easy to steal
Great system for carrying extra equipment
Tucks the jack out of line of sight and stores in a space that is out of the weather
I like having my Hi Lift jack inside the Jeep, and I also like the jack to be out of sight when driving -- this system is perfect. I was concerned about installation upon reading the previous reviews, but I'm a bit brand loyal and very partial to "made in the USA" so I purchased with the knowledge I would have to figure it out... and I did. The trick to drilling the holes is to use a glass cutting bit (has a flat triangle/spear head) after you get a good dent from the punch or first drill bit, use the glass cutting bit to break through the thickness of the steel. After that, just step up the size of the regular bits until you have the proper size hole. After figuring this out, install took about 20 minutes.
Install is definitely a pain in the A**. I love that it keeps it out of my line of sight and keeps it tucked inside out of the elements. It definitely feels extremely sturdy and love that it’s made in the USA. It would be 5 stars if the install wasn’t such a pain.
This is not for the DIY installer. I overall like the thought of where it is now mounted and a great location with weight distribution but this is time consuming and probably should be a difficult installation rating. You only get 1 shot at drilling and have to get the correct drill bit size to finish the final drill after the step bit and if your not experienced with the use of that type drill bit a wrong extra spin can be disastrous for the nutsert.
Got mine installed today. Does a great job of keeping the jack stowed out of the way and out of the elements. Designed to last, great quality. Once the holes are drilled it all comes together in minutes.
Drilling was the toughest I've experienced. I think the center line where I was drilling the holes was over a weld seam (like granite). Lots of cutting fluid and alternating between step drills and the 3/8 drill with the use of a round course file to break the tough inside edges of the partially drilled hole worked for me. Then I was able to cleanly drill through with the 25/64 final size. The round file made all the difference in getting it done.
Not a super good fit, but works well. Like how it looks in my Jeep and works great. Love how I can keep the jack out of the way and can still use the whole back not to mention keeping it out of sight of preying eyes.
The install is an absolute pain. Even with hard metal drill bits and step bits, drilling the holes is near impossible. Very sturdy once installed however there are much easier solutions on eBay. Happy with the final product, however it is time consuming and over complicated.
