Reviews for Bestop 2-Piece Fabric Doors for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited & Gladiator JT
Bestop soft doors and sun rider installed with no issues. Take the extra time to adjust properly to fit. Seals are not perfect but with the proper adjustments they are pretty tight. Love the appearance and ease of quick door removal. It is winter time but the steel doors will end up in the basement and will not go back on. Picked up a Bestop cab cover to use when not driving daily. Overall very satisfied with the doors and sun rider along with the great customer service received.
These doors are noisy on the highway, but they do serve their purpose. They stack nicely in the back of your Jeep and are easily installed if you hit bad weather. Also, you can bend them a little to try to make them fit tighter.
To make them fit better you must bent the upper a little. Also for road noise install the 1 or 2 inch, I can't remember which pipe insulator foam to the inside rods. it creates a tight fit between the metal and the fabric. You can pick them up cheap from Home Depot in the plumbing section.
The doors seemed to work wish they fit a little better
I have a love/hate relationship with these. I love the freedom they give you. If it starts to rain I can just throw these on which is so much easier then the hard doors. They took a lot of tweaking to get them to work when I first installed them and the tops of the doors still blow out 3-4 inches when the wind is really blowing hard. I get nervous they tops of the doors will blow off. They recommend getting the Bestop mirrors (51261-01). These did not work at all. It took over an hour to drill out holes in the fabric and metal underneath. Once they were mounted to the holes in the metal they stuck out at the top and looked terrible. I took them off and built my own with a 5/8ths inch rod and some convex mirrors. Would recommend the doors but know they will take some tweaking and getting use too.
These doors look good on my JT and probably serve the purpose of keeping the rain out (haven't verified that yet). Although I have spent a significant amount of time adjusting these doors they don't fit / seal properly on the Gladiator. The top of the door also "catches" the wind and flexes out if there is a gust or speeds >55.
I like that I can keep these in the back of the Jeep under the bed cover in case I get caught out in bad weather. Not sure I would buy again though.
These doors are a terrible fit, you can see daylight through many parts of the door. The rain comes in when it is parked, and when you hit 60 MPH the doors flap something terrible. The fabric is attached to the doors with Velcro and in many spots, the Velcro doesn't actually latch because there is not enough material.
The latch mechanism on the doors is terrible and after only five months of use, the keys don't work well anymore. They also print the lock number on the door itself which is a major security risk since someone can have a key made and get access to your Jeep.
The only positive thing about these doors would be that they can easily fit in the back of the Jeep. I expected much more from a Bestop product, but the poor craftsmanship will make me think twice before buying anything they make again.
I have tried to reach out to Bestop about this issue but they took down their online contact and the wait times on the phone are ridiculous so I was never actually able to reach a representative from Bestop.
I would not recommend these doors unless you don't mind getting your Jeep wet, having the doors flap in the breeze every time you go over 55, and
