Reviews for Bestop 51750-17 2-Piece Fabric Doors for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL 2-Door & Gladiator JT
I installed these the other day to say the least the door are ill fitting. There are gaps that you can see light at the bottom of the doors as it closed on the vehicle. The adjustments that you can do to make the door fit are limited and no matter what adjustment is made another part of the door does not line up or barely lines up. As far as a weather seal it rained last night when my Gladiator was parked in which it rained for about 10 minutes leading to the front driver and passenger floors having puddles. I have had Bestop soft doors on my old YJ and never had this bad of an issue. I would hope Bestop would deliver better quality on a product costing as much as it does.
I bought these doors a couple years ago. They were a bit difficult to put together and install, but I managed it. They work reasonably well, though don't provide a tight seal, especially down in the lower front corners. Good for driving in the rain, but would not leave Jeep parked in the rain with these doors, as you'll wind up with small ponds on the front floor. BUT, my BIGGEST beef, is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to separate the top, window half of these doors from the bottom. I'd resigned myself to that major disappointment, and just unzipped the window when the rain stopped. But now, trying to pack doors up for a move, I very much needed to separate these doors. NO GO. There is NOTHING online showing HOW to separate them. NOTHING!
I am a disappointed in the overall quality of the doors. While I understand they're soft doors I expected a much better fit and less leaking for over $600 with shipping. I had to send the first set back because they were damaged(Quadratec was awesome facilitating that, thanks!) and have tried adjusting the new set countless times to assure a better fit/seal. It is not even close. The frame is also incredibly flimsy and flexes 2-3 inches away from the vehicle at speeds over 50 MPH. Again I expected all of this to an extent with soft doors but am floored by how poor Bestop's quality is for these nearly $600 doors. IMO for that price there should be a sturdier frame and you shouldn't have to adjust them to create a decent seal on stock Jeep. VERY CHEAP PRODUCT!
