Reviews for MORryde JP54-010 Off-Road Jack Carrier for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Good value I can make work with my jeep.
The MORryde Jack Carrier is made to go with the MORryde Tailgate Hinges. This is an easy install, with slight trial end error. I ended up using the Top Slots in the bottom part of the carrier to get the jack as low as possible. You will also need to do slight up-down adjustment to the Upper jack attachment point to align the Bolt that holds the jack with the correct hole in the jack. I will no doubt end up adding the MORryde Tailgate Reinforcement Brackets and Tire Carrier before I am done with the tailgate.
Bought this to go along with the HD hinges and it works perfectly with Hi-Lift branded jacks so don't worry!!!
Seems like a good setup if you have the heavy duty mounts. I had to change the carriage bolt that secures the jack for a slightly longer one and add another nut and washer to give it a slight tilt to clear my cooler rack but other than that it has a lot of flexibility and seems like it’s set up to work with different brands of hi lifts. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the metal as it seems lightweight for what it’s doing but it seems to do the job. We’ll see how it holds up in the long run.
Functionally it works, however the steel plate the its made of can be thicker, I noticed that when I was tightening the bolt to hold it in place the plate deformed a bit as the bolt was tightening down. Not an issue though, its more that capable of carrying my jack.
One other thing they could change is maybe being able to adjust the height of the the bolt that holds the jack. My Jack is a TSC Buldog and not a Hi Lift (the brand) so the holes don't line up perfectly, which means the jack is lifted about 2/16th off the base plate and makes a squeaky noise. I put some rubber mat into the base plate to make up the space though.
