Reviews for Rock Hard 4X4 Patriot Series Tube Slider Rocker Guards for 2020 Jeep Gladiator JT
Installed these on my JT rubi.
They arrived on pallets well packaged and protected. The entire shipment arrived by freight fully intact.
Removing the factor slider was a breeze. The body bolts, not so much. I used a torch to heat up the bolts and backed them out with a little torque as possible using a small breaker bar.
As expected, I had to drill out a few of the holes along the pinch seam.
These sliders are heavy and I actually got help to install the second one.
The texture can get a bit slippery when wet. I added some grip tape to the top.
Overall, these are stout and I feel the best sliders available for the JT.
Exactly what I was going for in looks and strength/protection. It will function as a step, but is higher.
Absolutely worth the wait! These took around 2 hours to put on my gladiator. These were perfect and look like they should have come on the truck from the factory I guess I was a bit surprised they showed up on a pallet. But I should have realized how big they going to be.
Quality products perfect welds
These things are overbuilt in a good way. One of the best things is the 16 mounting points. Some rock rails reduce the number that Jeep uses. These guys add two more very substantial bolts to dissipate the impact and reduce the chances of body damage. They also beef up Jeep’s body flange mounts. The materials they use are beyond strong and the quality is great.
Installation is pretty easy but I would plan on drilling out the body flange holes. Their bolts are larger than Jeep’s and I would be surprised if one could get these on without drilling out these holes. The angle down rails make a great step and do not compromise overall clearance. I do however seriously recommend getting some anti-slip tape, 3” wide in black works great. Without the tape the rails are very slick and someone will slide off.
Heavy, very well made sliders, the welds are good and powder coat is flawless. Installed by myself and I enlarged the pinch weld holes to 5/16" (easy install and they fit the glaliator perfect). I looked at several before selecting Rock Hard angled down sliders. I made the right choice.
They look great and they are super over engineered, but think twice...a lot of folks (me included) have had issues with getting the body bolts out of the truck to get these installed, and that’s not something the manufacturer discusses in their instructions or install video. You’re probably safest paying to have them installed or you run the risk of a snapped bolt. Wish I had known that before going with these, but now that they’re on and the repairs are done I’m happy
