Reviews for ARB 3450460 Front Bondi Deluxe Winch Bumper for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
We have a 2022 Wrangler Sahara Altitude. I've had a few Jeeps and always get the upgrades done up front. I had an AEV bumper on my last JK, but liked the looks of this one and the it wasn't as expensive as the AEV.
The box I received had one hole in it, but did not affect the bumper. Finish on the bumper was excellent, welds were very nice, and after inventory, had all of my parts.
Now on to the install. The instructions from ARB are horrendous. Aside from the inventory page, you might as well toss this garbage and go to the online videos. It's a stapled mess with pages upside down, poor small pictures and very confusing. Lots of good ones there.Removal of the OEM plastic bumper was very easy and I pulled the fog lamps and harness, then put it back together to sell. Although I'm not planning on a winch right now, I installed the provided winch plate anyway, as it also gives more durability to the front end between bumper pads. Installed the tow plates and fog lamps without a hitch. All good until we got to the final install. Wife helped get the bumper up, as it is very heavy and awkward. Come to find out that in order to align the holes for bolt installation, the bumper is all up into the fender flares. I went ahead and tightened it all down, but the bumper sits at kind of an angle, so the tighter you go from the bottom, the top pushes up more into the fender flares. After all was said and done, it does look great, but not crazy about the contact. I don't think I'll pop a fender or anything, but there is no daylight between fender and bumper and it's 'snug'. What I might try is to put a few fender washers on the bottom bolts to allow the bumper to slide down a bit and give the fender some breathing room, but might just leave as is. Would have been nice for ARB to point this out.
All in all, a good purchase, but ARB should tighten some of this stuff up for the price they are charging for this bumper.
This bumper is a heavy duty replacement for the stock jeep bumper. I do like the build quality of the components and the look of the bumper once mounted. The winch is nicely fit down into the bumper (I used a Warn VR EVO 10s). I'm not sure how I will handle a rope replacement when the time comes, but I will make every attempt to do it without removing this bumper. Install took a long time and there was a few things that posed challenges.
A few things that you should consider.
1) The knock outs for the flush mount lights are no longer present. It appears they have been removed from the construction
2) If you intend to install the winch plate you will run into a few things that you should plan to have some difficulty with. The Upper bolt on the inside of of the frame rails is very difficult to get to, made more so if you have a Rubicon with the electric sway bar disconnect. This bolt is in a tight area, and you will need to play with a combination of sockets, extensions, and a swivel. (We used 3/8 drive for our best success here).
An additional hard point to work with is a set of bots that come into the frame rail at the back of the winch plate from the inside. There is a cutout on the plate to work with but it is small, and the gusseting does get in the way. A smaller box wrench will be needed for this.
3) Consider removing the jeeps front grill, this might give more space for some things. Not sure if this would be more difficult to remount though after the fact.
4)The mounting for the foglights/running lights does fit but exactly centered and because of the hardware used it is hard to adjust after mounting. You will have to go with a "good enough" scenario. You can get them close that only you will realize it as the installer.
5) Some of the hardware was mismatched. The instructions call for a number of box nuts that were not present for the wings, and the box nuts used in other locations were not well sized for post powder coating. (This last part is easy to work around by flexing the retaining wings a little.
6)I installed this on a 2021 Jeep Rubicon. The OEM wire harness for the fogs is long enough to enter the bull bar and pass all the way to the other side with no issue. This is how I ran the wire to stay out of the way of the winch.
7)I would not recommend doing this alone. This really is a 2 person job at times. Even if its only to have a second eye on the challenging points.
I wouldn't let any of the above items deter you from the bumper though. This is a solid piece of kit and I think it will hold up to a lot of abuse if you plan to blaze the trails. You will just need to use some ingenuity and think through a few things.
I fit it to my 2021 JL Rubicon. It was light enough to be a one man job but another person would be much easier. It was pretty easy to install and the instructions were easy to understand. I was able to fit the original fog lights but I put some shims in to help aim them properly. It was missing the square nuts to fit the wing cover plates but that's just a trip to the hardware store. I fit a Smittybilt XRC Gen 3 12,000lb winch without any cutting that you would do with the recommended Warn Zeon winch. Instructions say about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, I did it in 5ish hours but that was me taking my time and I am an absolute amateur.
The bumper arrived well packed and without scratches. The instructions could use some improvement. I found that the factory LED fog light wiring harness was a perfect fit running through the big hoop so there is no wiring loose behind the bumper. I also wish the bumper included a list of winches that fit without additional modifications (cutting) into some mounting surface (regardless how minor the cutting may be).
The bumper was packaged very well and arrived without damage. Everything was included and I wasn’t missing any parts. I did have to notch the frame ends of the Jeep to make the Warn 10-S fit with the bumper as one of the other reviews mentioned. Everything fit together perfectly and I would buy it again.
Looks great, super high quality of construction and very sturdy. Directions were not great but found a good online write up of installation that filled in the gaps. Couple of screws missing but easily remedied by a hardware trip. Overall very happy post install

First, the Packaging on this bumper is really poorly done.....It took 3 times to receive a bumper that only had minor damage to it.....at that point I just gave up and accepted the bumper. Thankfully, Quadratec took the damaged ones back and kept trying. Still not perfect but at some point you just want to get on with it. SO if you order this, inspect it carefully.
Second....DO NOT BUY THIS if you have a Rubicon or any model that has the electric swaybar disconnect!!!! They don't tell you that this will not fit due to the bash plate on the sway bar disconnect interferes with the bumpers skid plate (or visa versa depending on how you look at it). So in order to use this $1300 bumper, you have to modify the ARB skid plate and mounting supports.
VERY, VERY disappointing coming from ARB, a company that is known for its engineering and fit.
I gave it 5 starts for its basic fit and quality (as would be expected from ARB) I then took 3 stars away because of actual fit and not telling that this would require substantial rework to fit on the Rubicon.....as well as the truly dismal packaging
