Reviews for Quake LED QTE558 Blackout LED Replacement Tail Lights for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL
Direct Factory Replacement and blacked out appearance
kick ass!
These lights ARE compatible with the blind spot monitoring system. Instructions were good but keep in mind you must remove the sensor from the old fixture, it’s two additional screws... fairly straight forward process. You might have to go into the Uconnect dashboard settings and turn off and back on the BSM to reset the module. My neighbor didn’t have to, but I did. The lights look awesome and are completely integrated.
Overall great product. Installation was very easy. Agree with another reviewer that the pictures weren’t the best, especially when referring to the placement of the L-Bracket. Had no problem installing the sonor module from my old light. Took maybe an hour to do both. I was replacing a stock LED taillight, and had to use an OBD reader to clear the malfunctioning taillight error once installed. So much cheaper than buying a single OEM replacement light. I got this pair for half the price of a single OEM replacement. The blackout plastic looks great with my black and white Jeep. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the QUAKE logo on the driver’s side was sloppily applied. Almost like they used a glue that had a negative reaction with the housing plastic. Really only a quarter of a star reduction, but I didn’t have that option. Would be really cool if the logo was blackout also to go along the look. If you are looking to upgrade to LED or replace a broken stock LED for the fraction of a Mopar branded item these are highly recommended.
I really like these lights! They seem well built and solid and I like the look. Installation wasn't that difficult, but the instructions need to be better. The pictures on the install sheet are small and grainy and difficult to see what they are looking at. They were also a little vague in spots, like how to clip the L bracket with resistor onto the pinch weld behind the tail light. Also, there was no mention at all about how to disconnect and reconnect the cable (there are two plugs so you have to figure which one to unplug). You figure it out eventually, but the install could be a little faster if the instructions were a bit better. OVERALL, the lights work just great, they look great and I'm happy with them!
