Reviews for QuadraTop Premium Special Edition Replacement Soft Top for 88-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ
Our first top showed up with the zippers being sewn in wrong on the windows. Quadratec warrantied them right away and sent us new fabric. The replacemebt top lasted around 1.5 summers before the zippers gave out on all the windows. This is with easy use and not forcing anything while installing or removing them. We are two years in and need to purchase another replacement top. Other than the zippers, this top fits well and functions like the OEM.
I really wanted to like this top, the fabric is awesome and the tinted windows are nice and clear compared to my old one. But. The quality of the stitching and zippers are very poor. The zipper pin on the side window failed the the se end time i put the top up. The driver window pull tab lasted a good month and I only drive it on weekends. The rear window zipper seam is very loose and causes the rear window to be loose or baggy looking I would expect a product that cost this much to last at least a year. Not one down/up cycle.
I wanted to wait until it rained to give this a fair review, so I've had the top for a few months now. I live in San Diego so I usually have the doors and windows off and just use the top for shade. If that's all you want to use this for, it's absolutely fantastic! The top itself fits really well and I have no complaints about it. However, it finally rained and now I have nothing but complaints for it. The door skins do not fit at all. I know some people have said they use a hair dryer or something to heat them up to stretch them, I did that to get them together a few months ago, a massive pain that took hours, but I got it. What I'm saying here is that the skin can not sit on the rails of the door frame and also Velcro together. It seems impossible. We have two guys pulling and pushing from every direction and it just won't work. I have the OEM door frame, so I don't know why I would have fitment issues. On top of that, the rear window doesn't line up with the rails for the tailgate. I have the OEM soft top rails on my frame, and the "MasterTop Tailgate Bar Kit for 87-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ and Unlimited" on my tailgate. The window doesn't line up at all with either which means that any time there's wind the window floats inside the trunk and water can get in. The entire thing seems poorly designed for it's intended use of keeping water out. I tried to include as much information as possible about my specific experience so that you have a better idea of what to expect if you buy this. I know there are a lot of people that are really happy with this top, so my experience might just be the outlier.
