Reviews for TACTIK HD Front Bumper with Hoop for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I wanted a simple replacement bumper for my JK. I didn’t want a stubby or an overbuilt unit to hold up to the rubicon and the tactic fit the bill. The box had some big holes in it when I received it and the foam packing had exploded on one side but there was no damage to the bumper. Not even a scratch. It all went together easy and I think it was just under 2 hours to pull the stock bumper and have this one installed and taking pictures of the finished product. I have large hands and had zero problems holding the nut on the backside to install the factory fog lights. I don’t know why so many people complain. Good product and a price that doesn’t hurt the wallet.
Box was pretty beat up arrival but the packing protected the bumper. I was able to install it by myself with no problem but I don’t think I’d attempt it with a winch installed. Only complaint is a couple of the fog light bolts are in impossible locations so I made up a little L bracket out of a metal conduit bracket and double sided tape to hold the nut on the impossible locations, worked great. Looks great!
I'm happy with this bumper, looks great and I was able to install by myself! You will have a little trouble getting the screw/nut combination into the upper/inside corner of the fog lights unless you have really small hands! I finally got them in after a few choice words, though. Pre-made extension cables for the fog lights would have been a nice feature so a person wouldn't have to tear back the factory tape and figure out how to re-tape and secure everything. I may try to make my own, but I did get them plugged back into my factory harness. Overall, worth the money though!
Good looking bumper for the price. Bull bar was a little scuffed, but shipping box was beat up pretty good so that may account. Otherwise, packing was good. Install was fairly easy by one person. Satisfied with purchase.
Bumper is easy to install, I had received 7/8" shackles and needed to modify, but it was easy.
Now I have been waiting 14 days on isolators for my larger shackles?
I was told they should be shipped by 3/4?
I love the bumper, but am frustrated with the extra effort on my order!
Was impressed at first for cost and look of product once it arrived and installed but quickly found out why it’s so much cheaper than comparable products. My bumper peeled and flaked where d-rings attached on both sides as well as huge flakes all over the face of the bumper after only a few months. I’ve pulled the bumper and had it powder coated but should have just invested in a better product from the start.
Tactik does know how to pack a bumper in a box. The first one I got was damaged. The second one I got was damaged the third one I got was damaged and all three cases the internal packing was poorly done. The poor packaging resulted in scratches and bent parts and loose parts just lying in the box, there’s no excuse for something like this in my opinion. I finally decided to keep the third one against my best judgment, and I wished I had sent it back after removing my old bumper and attempting to put this one on. I found out that the studs did not line up with the factory holes …they were off by about a quarter of an inch, I had to drill out the holes on my jeep to make it fit. The instructions said the nuts were 18 mm. They were not …….they were 19 mm so I had to trek back to my shop to get a 19 mm socket. What a waste of time. The factory fog lights were difficult to install, had to force them into the holes and had to use WD-40 to facilitate this.
I would strongly not recommend this brand for a bumper…… look elsewhere
I will say Quadratec was easy to deal with right now on these issues. I have no beef with Quadratec.
Not a textured finish like the description says. The welds look terrible, I don't even know if I trust it to hold my winch. Also, the packing was terrible as mine came damaged.
