Reviews for Rough Country 70959 MLC-6 Multiple Light Controller for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I’ve never liked the above the windshield mount and that little skinny tray in front of your shifter (if it’s an automatic) is basically useless, so about 20 min after the ups man dropped this off I was taking a dremel to it to get it at a good angle to put on my lower dash and it came out pretty good. Not perfect, it I’m happy. And it’s nice that the main board fits the JK perfectly and makes an easy and clean wiring setup
Great design, straightforward install! Very happy with the kit!
Very easy to install one of my switches since first week did not light up, the switch works perfect still. I did check the wires on the back of the switch when had the issue the led blue light would work, not work flicker, and then it stopped working would totally buy again. I could get a new switch pop a new one in it but not worried about the light
The instructions are outdated and poor, and they don't consider manual transmission JKs, so you have to find your own way through the firewall in a different location (a grommet above the brake master cylinder). The connector on the switch panel wire is huge and does not fit anywhere behind the windshield header. I consider it to be a very poor design. You also have to be careful installing the panel to prevent wires from pulling out of the switches. Aside from that, the unit seems to be well constructed, and it works well.
Install wasn't as bad as i thought it'd be, and the switch panel looks great mounted above the mirror. The positive screw post on the control box PCB broke with very little effort when trying to tighten the nut. It seems to be a very soft metal. Luckily, it left enough threads to get the nut on and secured after removing the lock washer.
Broke just over a year and out of warranty
I have had this unit for a little while now and had no complaints until I noticed that my Rough Country 50" LED light bar was flickering while it was turned off. I do not know how long it had been like this as I keep the cover on the light bar. But upon further inspection when I opened the cover to the box the number one switch fuse had melted and caught fire inside of the box and melted the relay, and still was sparking as the fuse never popped and was sending power to the light even though the switch was off and the engine was off. This is also killed my battery with a constant small parasitic draw constantly draining the battery and ultimately killing a brand new battery.
