Reviews for N-FAB J194TRKRS Rock Rail Step System for 2020 Jeep Gladiator JT
If you are looking for a moderately priced but high quality rock rail and steps I strongly recommend these N-Fab's. To be upfront, I was thinking about subtracting a star because they came with no directions. I found a video on Youtube that walked through how to install another N-Fab rock rail and these installed the same way. The product itself is very sturdy and the steps are perfectly placed. Most importantly my wife likes them and look pretty bad azz on my Gladiator Mojave.
The removable steps
Shipping was super fast. The parts were well made and easy to install. They look great on my gladiator, My wife loves the steps, I love that they're easily removable for when I want to hit the trail!
Won this on an Ebay auction for a third of what it retails for. Bunch if scratches and scuffs but that's why I got it so cheap. And I don't plan on keeping the paint on these pristine anyways so who cares? Install was super easy. Less than an hour. Do I wish it was mounted to the frame, yes. But it is a ton more sturdy than your typical nerf bar system and/or side steps. It's not flimsy, each rail weighs about 50 lbs. It mounts flawlessly to the pinch seam and to underbody mounts. Unless I drop off a cliff onto these rails I don't think it will do any damage to the underbody. These rails will stand up to abuse on a trail. I'm very happy with the way they turned out and they look pretty tough. Definitely an upgrade. I would pay full price for these.
Every bit as great as I hoped for. It was almost harder to unpack the box than to mount the rails. The images do not show the steps well. They are sized and located perfectly. The rails fit flawlessly. Installation into the factory mounting holes was done in less than an hour. The ability to quickly remove the steps for the trail is just what I wanted. I love the boxy/industrial/military look... pure Jeep. Highly recommended!
Pretty slick. I got these mainly because of the detachable steps. The automatic open-close options are nice, but way too expensive. So this was a nice middle ground.
The install would be a breeze, except they left out one of the nuts, so I had to go to the hardware store. Even so, it can hardly be easier. The only bit was that you _really_ have to leave everything loose until you get all the pinch weld bolts in place. Not sure if that's necessary for the design once everything is tightened or what, but I had to loosen to get them all in.
The one that came with it. had 8 pinch weld fasteners and four body mounting bolts. I can't help but wonder about the sturdiness given this one has 6 and 3, but one presumes they tested. I'm 350lbs, and it seems to hold me well enough.
If you want the detachable option, these are a good choice. They help me get in, but I mainly got them for the wifey, and she finds it a lot easier now. Being able to take 8 bolts off if I'm on tough trails to increase clearance is a nice option to have. I like them.
