Reviews for Rough Country 90769A Contoured Drop Steps for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
I really like these you guys. They are awesome. The pictures don't show it, but you do not lose any ground clearance. I was worried about that. They are super strong as well. I jump on them and I weigh 250. No problem.
Love these steps!!
Packaging was great.
Easy to install, everything lined up perfectly. By myself in the driveway, only took an hour.
Very happy with these. They look great. The fam is pleased. A bit of a challenging install but I can deal with that.
Great
Very happy with these, quality is great, very sturdy but like others have mentioned the instructions that come with them are useless but if you have mechanical ability you can figure out how they go on. I suggest reading the instructions from your phone or a tablet before or while installation and another set of hands would be ideal. I would definitely recommend these.
Good sturdy quality. Instructions a little tricky concerning mounting brackets but got through it. Great looking. Everyone thinks they look great.
Looks good. was fairly easy to install
I toiled with which steps to use. I am SO HAPPY I chose these! They are built bomb proof. And the powder coat seems super durable. RC did not skimp on the powder. The location of the steps are just right for ease of climbing in. The angular design of these steps are a nice compliment to the lines of the Jeep too. Install took me about an hour for both sides, in total. The instructions were blurry in my kit, but if you have any mechanical ability at all, it’s a breeze. See my Punkin’ Orange pic above. Highly recommend these!
Looks sharp and functions as expected. Only complaint is the instructions provided are useless as they seem to be a copy of a copy of a copy, so the images are not clear and the written instructions don’t help either. Fortunately it isn’t too complex so you can figure it out without the instructions.
I just installed these on my 2020 Wrangler Unlimited this past weekend. I would have given them 5 stars but like others have said, the directions are no good. They show a picture of the main mounting brackets and point out that each bracket is notched to indicate its position on the rail (front, middle , back). well the brackets that came with my kit did not have notches and its because they were EXACTLY identical so it didn't matter the position. Also, I had to file down some weld "blobs" on the very end of a couple of the brackets that was causing the hole locations to not line up. Last but not least the brackets had nuts welded to them, a couple of these nuts evidently had weld splatter in them so I had to run a tap through them to clean them out.
NOW...all that said, I love the looks of these and they are very sturdy. I'm a pretty big guy weighing in at about 320Lbs and these support me no problem, aside of the few minor issues, these are a pretty good product and I would purchase again.
