Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11540.31 HD Full Width Front Bumper for 07-22 Jeep Wrangler JL, JK & Gladiator JT
I installed this bumper on the 2020 Rubicon Gladiator, perfect fit and finish. Very well made, bolt holes lined up perfectly and it fits nice and tight. Installed a Smittybuilt 9500 winch in it and holes lined up perfectly and the overall install was pretty painless. And it did allow for the factory skid plate to stay in in place.
Nice bumper but be careful if you want to utilize the stock driving/fog lights. If you have the LED driving lights with three mounting holes, the brackets provided and the existing mounting holes on the bumper will not work with the lights. After contacting the manufacture, they are not planning on producing adapters for the three hole lights. Your only two option would be new MOPAR OEM 4 mounting holes lights or aftermarket.
This thing looks great, have had it on for about 6 or so months. The install wasn't exactly painless, but it wasn't terrible. Love the way the winch tucks in too. And unlike reviews on other bumpers, at least for a Rubi JT the fog lights went in no problem at all (install before you put the bumper on).
Now the issue I have...if you are running 37s and have a 2.5 - 3" (possibly a bit more) of a lift...you'll either need a bigger lift or just DONT choose this bumper...if you stay stock tires or probably 35s, should be fine. I just bent the inner piece of the passenger side on a trail run as it caught the tire upon flex...and it was terrifying...the good part was that it didn't chew the tire or dig in!
Put this on a 2021 Gladiator Mojave. Looks and fit great. Instructions are confusing if you’ve never attempted an install like this before. If you have, you’ll get through it no problem. I had to notch out the factory steel skid plate to accommodate for the new placement of the fog lights. Nothing in the instructions tells you that. All in all very satisfied with look and fit.
Much better than Mopar plastic bumper on my Gladiator for sure. Really like the look. Would give 5 stars except concerns about power coating on bumper doesn’t seem to be very durable. We’ll see.
I love the look of this bumper with the X-Striker. I installed this on my 2020 Gladiator Mojave. The install is definitely a two person job. We had some difficulty with the main bolts that attach the bumper to the frame. It took some time to get the bolts to thread. I think Rugged Ridge may want to rethink the method of attachment. That was really the only challenge with installation. The factory Mojave skid plate did reattach. I suggest you attach the two front screws first, then the back two screws. The holes did not line up when starting with the back screws. The bumper itself is very well made. I attached a Badland Apex 12,000 winch. Very pleased with the look and functionality of my new setup.
I enjoy this bumper, this was the first bumper i have installed. Hardest part was lining up the bolts on the bumper with the mounting holes. If you have some one to help you mount it I highly suggest it. Took about 2 1/2 hours including mounting the Winch. if you buy after market Fog lights mount them before you mount the bumper!
I've 22 Rubicon JT. This bumper will get in the way to reuse factory skid plate(will not work) I've Zeon 10S Warn winch, this won't fit the holes or have enough space to drop it in. Lastly, there are too much of gaps between the fender well and the end of bumper ends. This makes it look ugly (if you have Rubicon) Hope this helps someone to choose correct bumper.
Very nice product, but the passenger side winch reinforcement braquet won't fit on the Rubicon, because of the swaybar deactivating system.
I installed this bumper on a 2020 Rubicon Gladiator and it does interfere with the factory steel skid plate. Rugged Ridge states that it will not work with the skid plate and they are correct. The fog lights have to be installed upside down and the skid plate will need to be notched to accommodate this bumper. No fault of Rugged Ridge.
On another note, this bumper looks good from afar. The welds and finish leave a lot to be desired, runs in the paint, poor grinding of welds (seams are not straight), etc...
