Bought this as a cheap replacement for my factory boot that was missing a complete chunk out of it. I had ordered a redline goods shift boot (leather) and I dont want to have a giant hole for gunk and sound to come from when driving.

When you recive the boot, first thing I would do is let it out in the sun or somewhere nice and warm. its going to be stiff as heck. When you install it be sure to use some vasoline or grease so it doesnt tear and so you dont break your fingers. Once its slipped over you will notice you have to fight it to get it lined up with the holes in your jeep. The PO of mine decided to drill like 15 additional holes so I got some 1/4-20 nutserts and some nice stainless bolts and made it just a little more robust. My only grievance is the material is way to stiff but it might pay off in the long term, there was no odor when installed, I had it by my fireplace overnight so it was at least somewhat warm to install.

Overall is a decent material, its more of a polyurethane than a rubber, its half the price of the OMIX one, and its nice and snug against everything, doesnt interfere with shifting at all. My bottom line would be do this in the summer!!

Tight fit; I had to trim quite a bit, but I made it work, good thing it’s the inner & not the outer.

Not so pleased, inner boot didn’t have flexibility needed to be able to shift. Effort required to shift to shift into 2nd, 4th and, reverse. Running down the road it would jump out of 2nd and 4th. After I split (cut) the boot all is ok. Just hated to cut a new part to make it work.

Had to cut it to fit, really tough and not easy to line up with the stock bolt holes.
