Is connecting t-taps to the positive and negative on the parking light (Step 12) necessary on the non-halo option?
You will not need to do any splicing if you do not purchase the halo version. That version is plug and play.

Are these headlights DOT approved?
Yes. These are DOT and SAE compliant with no-halo, an amber halo, or a white halo.

What is the best option for these lights? I am confused as to why so many choices and price differences. Also do you need a can-bus for these? In the instructions it says to call if you need one, why not just include it like other brands?
Thanks
Chris
ColorSHIFT 2.0 uses an infrared remote to control the lighting.
ColorSHIFT BC1 is Bluetooth and uses your phone & a free app to control the lighting.
ColorSHIFT WiFi uses your phone & a free app to control the lighting.
Hi Chris. It's really personal preference. Do you want a halo or no halo? If you don't want a halo, just pick the one without halo. If you do want a halo, do you want it to be white? Amber? Or the option to select from RGB combinations to create a color? If you want the RGB combo (ColorSHIFT), then here's how that work: ColorSHIFT 2.0 uses an infrared remote to control the lighting. ColorSHIFT BC1 is Bluetooth and uses your phone & a free app to control the lighting. ColorSHIFT WiFi uses your phone & a free app to control the lighting. These do include anti-flicker harnesses now. I have uploaded a new installation PDF as well. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thanks!

Do these Led lights use less power than OEM lights (I have a 2013 JK)?
Sure do. The Wattage is as follows:
Low Beam Wattage: 30W Normal/36W Max
High Beam Wattage: 40W Normal/48W Max
OEM is 55W low, 60W high.

Looking to fit these onto my 2002 TJ, the option with white halo, and wondering if they fit directly onto existing housing without any adjustment.
Directions say direct connection onto existing plug even with halo effect.
Anyone fitted them to their TJ recently. Any thoughts/advice.
Thanks
The lights themselves mount right into your factory buckets just like OEM. The only adjustments that may be needed are aiming the headlights properly after installation. This is due to the upgraded projector optics. The headlights themselves are plug and play. The halo must be wired. It can be tapped or spliced into your parking/running lights or wired to a switch if you prefer. We have sold these to many TJ customers with great results!

How do you change the color of the halos without a controller? Can you use your phone/app to do it?
You still need to purchase a color shift controller, Oracle offers other options for controllers that are not the basic one offered here.

Can the halo be wired into the turn signal and is there instructions to do so?
The hallo cannot be wired into the turn signals as they will blink white. Having forward-facing white blinking lights for turn signals is not legal. You will want Oracle part # 5769-123 which is a similar light that has switchback LED halo rings - white DRL and amber turn signal.

Can the Halo's be wired to be on all the time? Or do you have to turn them on manually?
They can be wired however you like. There are positive and negative wires coming out of the rear of the light for this. I just uploaded an additional photo showing the wiring.
