Reviews for Magnum by Raptor Series Rear Bumper for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL
Very satisfied with this purchase. This bumper Is far more tough then the factory one It replaced. Pretty straight forward, and simple instal. I’d deff recomend
I don't know why people are overlooking this bumper. It is plenty solid with 1/8" steel shell and 1/4" supports/mounts. The shackle rings are through-welded, which is very important if you are someone that actually uses them.
I love the fact that the mounting system allows adjustment in any direction, which allowed me to get the gap I wanted against the body and higher up against the tailgate bottom. Maybe this amount of adjustment frustrates some buyers, but I appreciated it.
The design is quite nice and the wraparound corners fit the body line of the tub perfectly.
I had no use for the backup sensor holes, so I plugged off the two central ones with the included hole plugs. I put 3/4" LED backup lights in the other two.
The included third brake light LED really makes no sense mounted down so low, but I easily found the manufacturer of the included light and bought a white LED from Amazon and mounted it in the bumper. The fit is perfect by the way.
The included license plate bracket/LED assembly was nice, but I removed the LED from it and mounted it next to my license plate and directly to the bumper for a lower profile look.
In all, I am very happy with this bumper. It is very well built and matches the lines of my front Warn bumper quite well.
I set up this bumper. I like the look of it, but for me, three "negatives":
- Too bad the metal's too thin.
- the attachment for the sensors works, but another "cleaner" system would have been smarter to investigate
- I had to make two protective plates for the sensors located closest to the ground, because the connector and the wires are too exposed to splashes (mud, water, etc).
It is an ok bumper. License plate light barely fits and I haven't even tried the backup light yet. The housing for the backup sensors is not great. It causes the sensors to sit back about an 1/8 of an inch behind the bumper, which blocks any peripheral view that those sensors had. Better than nothing, but not great. Going to look into some alternatives to widen the holes and get some flush mounts for the sensors.
