Reviews for Alpine HCE-RCAM-WRA Rear Camera System
Already have an Alpine receiver, easily adapable
Great unit. Plug and play when used with an alpine unit. Picture is clear.
Installed in my 2017 JKU with an Alpine ILX-W650 receiver. Install was straightforward. If using this receiver, make sure to put parking brake on to access settings. This will save you some headaches.
Simple plu and play install to my alpine head unit.
Works as designed. Clear picture
Paired this with the Alpine iLX-W650 receiver and it works perfectly. Install was straight forward and easy.
This was very easy to install, but time consuming. I have this hooked up to the Alpine ilx-w650, and the image is extremely clear, and after adjusting the color a little bit, it was almost like looking outside. The instructions could be a little bit clearer on a couple of things, but it is better than any backup camera image that I have seen in any newer vehicles. Might have to bend the bracket after installation to place camera inside of the rim for protection, but even after doing this, you can see EVERYTHING behind you crystal clear. And it has pretty a good image at night also.
Installed this same time as installing an Alpine head-unit to replace factory radio. Works seamlessly with new head unit. Wide camera view, works good at night. Camera is tucked well within spare wheel spokes, hardly noticeable...
Works fine as backup camera and has been installed for about six months with no issues. Nothing about it is exceptional.
Install wasn't bad at all with the addition of the Camera Input Harness. The instruction suggested tapping into the 12v at the passenger kick panel, but I tapped into the accessory outlet instead. As for activating or "flashing" the backup on the factory deck, I used OBD JScan. The 430N screen resolution isn't all that good, but the camera does the job just fine for the price.
