All inclusive. I like the fact they tell if you need additional parts for your application. Maybe highlighting them in red could be easier to notice suggestions or warnings
So I have a Dana 30 front and 8.25 rear I have 3.55 gears an plan to swap to 4.56 will I need to swap my 3.55 carrier to the 3.73 carrier to swap the ring and pinion to be able to achieve correct backlash cause this will be my second set of gears in a master kit since I messed up the first order buying and Dana 30 and Dana 35 set when I needed a Dana 30 and 8.25 set so want to do this right this time
I will tell you right now, between both me and the gear installer, these will NOT fit your Dana 30 3.55 carrier, you need a 3.73 carrier and higher "numerically" to install these gears!! With a 3.55 carrier, you will get .06-.08. you need .004-.009 backlash. As far as the rear 8.25", you will not have any issues with 3.55-4.88 swap. Still in my 500 mile break in period. I wanted this information out there, as I needed it when ordering gear sets.
Really unimpressed with these gears. The pinion depth was not marked. The gears had corrosion on them. The coating was spotty in some places, missing in others and extra thick in others. We actually had to sand the coating down in one area of the pinion (front and rear) to allow set up bearings that worked on other gears and worked on the factory to slip on. Set within specs with a good pattern and they howled. Having to go way looser on the backlash. Overall I am just no longer impressed with Yukon gears. I have used them in the past and they were fine. The only reason I have it 2 stars is it was indeed complete and had everything needed. The quality just was not there.
