They are. These are original parts. The JL uses a combination of aluminum and plastic to replace the steel that made the JK heavy and cumbersome.
Do you bolt them on?
Yes, these are replacements for the original. You will reuse the original hardware
what doyou recommend painting it with? do you sell these already painted?
We do not sell them painted. The 5oz can of spray would be the best for painting at home or shop. https://www.quadratec.com/mopar/jeep-touch-up-spray-paint-can. For better adhesion make sure to use a plastic primer coat prior to painting.
Is the color of these a matte black or more of a satin black?
They are more of a matte black, but they need to be painted, or they will fade to gray. These are original replacement parts from the factory.
