Reviews for Dirtydog 4X4 Rear Cargo Liner for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL 2-Door
Full coverage of cargo area
Non-slip, durable
This product works EXTREMELY WELL!
That said, it is fairly easy to install except the rod! You need either a lot of patience, as was needed with the first one I installed or as with the second one I installed, just a pair of scissors to cut the slots just a little bit wider!
AGAIN, a VERY NICE, durable product to protect your ( our ) jeeps from our best friends!
So good, it literally saved a life.
I was out this weekend wheeling when, very deep into a trail, someone on an ATV wrecked and had life threatening injuries. The EMTs could barely get out there and couldn't bring barely any gear. I had the great idea to grab my Dirtydog liner and we were able to get the guy onto it so we could pick him up and place him in the back of a Gladiator and eventually a Gator to get him out of the trail to be air lifted to a hospital. It is definitely very strong because the injured person had to have weighed 250-300 and there was no sign of it ripping. Unfortunately, I don't have my cargo liner any more, but I can go over how much I liked it before it was gone!
I don't think it is worth taking a star off, but the install is tedious. Sticking the pipe through the holes in the cover was annoying and took me way longer than I figured it would. The holes are exactly the same size as the pipe so it took a while for me to wiggle it in. Other than that, the install is very easy. It gives amazing coverage in the back of my 2 door JL and all the dog hair that was previously in my carpet can be swept out. I also like how high up the seats that it goes, stops my dog from trying to jump up at me. Obviously the material is very strong, if it wasn't obvious from my story, but very scratch resistant as well. I would absolutely recommend this.
I searched and read reviews for many dog cargo liners and chose this one for its ruggedness. I won’t be hauling anything other than a furry Chow. I like that it covers the wheel wells, side carpet areas and up the bucket seats, and doesn’t use suction cups. However, 15 mins initial installation time is nonsense. This was an hour and a half job. The bars measure more in length than what the instructions state. Instructions also state to remove all 6 bolts however there are only 4 parts that would get screwed back into where the bolts are. There are two sections that get snapped into one of the parts in each side. Something just is not adding up. There are two very long straps on the underside of the front (close to front seats) that are not mentioned once in the instructions. What are they for? And the fabric the the bar slid through had to be zip tied around the bar on each end to prevent it from sliding out since the total length is different than what the structures state. Either I got part of a 2 door and part of a 4 door cargo liner combined into a makeshift item, or the Instructions really do need a serious revision. Aside from all the many “not quite right” things, I think I will be very pleased with this product. My main goal is to protect the interior of my new Jeep at all costs, and I’m hoping once my dog goes for his first ride, I will only have a liner to clean up a little.
Fits nicely, instructions were poorly written, took ~30 mins to assemble
The good, the bad, and the ugly. It says give yourself 15 minutes to install. Make that 45-60. Why? The directions are poor at best. It says nothing about what to do with the straps underneath. I used mine to further tie down the product to the floor (I removed my back seat) Of the extra snaps that are on the sides. Hook the two pieces of rob together to form the 50" rod. You may need to cut the slits a 1/4 inch to get the rod to go thru the top. All in all, if you have a good head on your shoulders, you can figure it out, and make adjustments so that it fits your needs. It's not a perfect fit, but it's pretty close. Now for the quality. It's great. Good, strong material. Ties and straps seem to be strong. I think overall, considering what's on the market, this can work for most people who want cargo area protection.
Keeps the back area clean from my dogs, but my 1 lab chewed through it the first ride. Pricy for what it is.
I like the fit but dislike the material. My dog's hairs get embedded into the material and it's a tough to clean.
