Reviews for Westin 42-6025 Triple Tube Rock Rails 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
Frame mounted which is what I was looking for. There some special bolts that hang below the frame, and they are now all bent badly from rocks. The step height is good for myself and my wife to enter and exit the Jeep (3.5" lift). The tread plate is never slippery when muddy. These rails mount pretty close to the body and small stones sometimes get wedged in the opening. The lower tube structure and the outer tube show evidence that they are doing their job. There are reinforcement webs at the mounting brackets, and I have needed to straighten and weld tears in them a few times. I knew that these would be sacrificial for saving the Jeep body, and they are doing a fantastic job!
great rails . allows easy lift to top to secure cargo on roof
Much heavier duty and provide a comfortable step up
Hi, These rails are heavy duty! They are also heavy.
A few installation pointers that will help you out: 1). You need somebody to help you position the rails. 2). The instructions say you need a 16 mm and 18 mm wrench, you do not, and there's actually no use for either. 3). You DO NOT NEED to touch the main body bolts at all, shoving the rail in place works well. 4). The nylon u bolt holders are annoying, tape them in place with a small duct tape collar, as the hardest part of the install is positioning the front mount on the rails, made harder when the bolts are a moving target. A small jack helps to hold the front mount in place while you tighten the hardware preventing binding. 5). The washers supplied for the u bolts and nuts are too small, get some wider ones, I did. 6). Removing stock Rubicon rails is easy, just need a 10 mm and a 13 mm socket.
The rails are great, look nice, and I'm certain can take a beating!! Thanks!! -Todd
The Westin Rock Rails are what I was looking for and I like the fact that they are made in the USA
Excellent rails, pretty easy to put on. Like other say, need two sets of hands. I did it myself with a motorcycle lift. Finish was great. Only thing to complain about is that it looks like FedEx tried to destroy it. Shipment was delayed twice, box was mangled, had holes on the ends of the box, box cover torn in two and they actually ground the finish off on a spot on each rail. I used truck bed spray to touch it up.
Installed quickly and have worked well... Balanced the jeep on rocks and pivoted on stumps with them preventing damage to the Jeep multiple times.
Love these rock sliders! Very solid and easy bolt on install. Extra hand is needed. Very heavy!
Well built and looks great as a unobstructed step and slider. Many other steps look nice, but don’t slide across rocks without getting hung up. Not the case with these.
awesome quality and fit. great product
